I run SC and IB's TWS both in real time on a Windows 2019 Server (Desktop display version). Just use Microsoft's RDC to connect to it. This is the best way to trade as you can scale up/down a system in a matter of minutes. You have fault tolerance setup and know your system is running in a secure data center. I don't know why anyone would buy a high end PC to trade when you can use a VM. Google gives you 50GB of SSD space with this setup which is more than I need. Total cost ~ $60-80/month depending on your configuration and what region you have hosting the VM.
