Setting fire to your house and car, eating your own vomit and amputating one of your limbs without anaesthetic are all better options than IB. This is an interesting comment. We know we are critical about Interactive Brokers from a technical perspective, in relation to developing Integration to their systems, but this comes across as harsh. Certainly Interactive Brokers is a good choice, if you want to be able to trade many asset classes and keep your commission costs low. The basis of our criticism, is really just providing support when there are problems.Based on your requirements what we recommend you use is the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed for US equities data: Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed There is not going to be any requirement for having a trading account. So in this case you will just be using Sierra Chart with this data feed and there is nothing more you need to do. It will also provide futures data, but that will require a trading account to save on exchange fee costs. If you want to trade only futures from Sierra Chart, then might be better that you work with a different broker than Interactive Brokers. For an understanding of why a futures account is needed, refer to: Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Understanding and Accessing Data From the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX Exchanges Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point.
