With regards to post #4: The Pre-Release version typically changes whenever there is an update. There are some rare times, when something is found fairly soon after a Pre-Release is put up, that we may not increment the version, as very people will have seen it. The general rule is simply that you would need to only download the Pre-Release when the version number changes, unless you are told otherwise in a support post.
