This is supported but make sure you have enabled Global Settings >> Tool Settings >> Double Click on Drawing Brings Up Drawing Properties and Support Left Click to Select Chart Drawings. However, we do see if you are using Support Drag for Chart Drawing Creation/Modification that you cannot do this. This is because this option interferes with the double-click.
