We now understand the problem better.

It is only fairly recently that Barchart has allowed connections on port 443. Apparently their support people were not aware of this. For some reason they are no longer allowing a connection on 443. Since there is less difficulty with using port 443, we made that the default. We will switch back to the default of 7500.

So while, maybe they should have recognized the problem, the problem was nonstandard so they did not understand why Sierra Chart users could not connect.
