Since I have access to and am sharing data with another computer where TWS is originally running, I am assuming that TWS is also running (in accordance with the Sierra Chart instructions just below) on my computer – where Sierra Chart is now running. If I understand you correctly, this arrangement is not an issue. So per the following instructions from the link you provided, I changed the Server Address and Port setting to 127.0.1:7496 on both Sierra Chart and Interactive Brokers: “Select the Service Setting >> Server Address and Port setting. It needs to be set to 127.0.0.1:7496. If the TWS software is running on a computer different than Sierra Chart, then the Server Address can be set to the IP address where TWS is running.” Next, per these subsequent instructions from the same link, I was able to change the Socket Port on Interactive Brokers to 7497 (from 7496): “To change the socket port, select Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings. In the Server box enter localhost: 7497 (you can use any number). In Interactive Brokers TWS, select Edit >> Global Configuration >> API >> Settings >> Socket Port and enter 7497 (use the same number you have set in Sierra Chart).” But I could not find anywhere under the “Server” box at Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings in Sierra Chart how to enter 7497, because when I click on the “SC Server Settings” box, all that appears is a drop-down list set presently to “Local computer only,” with no way to enter localhost: 7497. So for this step I did not change anything on Sierra Chart. And I returned to Interactive Brokers and changed the Socket Port there back to its original 7946. I then selected File >> Connect to Data Feed, and the connection seemed to be working. Now, however, another problem. None of the data on my charts is updating. The latest data I have showing on my charts is from October 20. That is where the charts stop. Do I still have a connection problem, or is there something different that must be addressed? The Log is no longer indicating "Error connecting to Data or Trading Service ... Note: Is the Interactive Brokers TWS software running and is it enabled for socket clients?" It is indicating that something else needs to be corrected. Thanks. |
