Post From: no realtime SC Data Feed while using DTC - Sub Instance

Hi support, I am using 2 Sierrachart instances. One through TransAct and a second one in order to have your realtime Forex and CFD feed (SC Data - All Services). I have always been using the method of referencing remote chart data files in order to overlay chart symbols in and from both instances. This has always worked fine for me. I just bought a new computer and have been trying to setup everything like it was before only that now I am unable to choose between the two instances when selecting symbols. The 'Instance:' dropdown menu in 'Find Symbol' is greyed out and I can no longer use symbols from for example the SC-Data feed instance in the TransAct instance. Upon searching the forums and the documentation pages I found out that the above method of referencing remote chart data files is no longer supported and that one should dig his teeth into using DTC. So far so good, I enabled 'DTC Protocol Server' in the TransAct instance and set the 'Data/Trade Service' of my Sierrachart instance to 'DTC-Sub Instance' with the proper IP (local only) and ports. Log says all is fine and indeed I am able to use all the futures symbols realtime in the Sierrachart instance. However, I am now unable to use any of the CFD or Forex symbols. I get 'Symbol unknown' for everything and while historical data gets downloaded there is no realtime updating as it querying TransAct for that data. I mean, I login to that instance using my Sierrachart credentials so shouldn't I be able to use the realtime Forex and CFD feed. What am I missing ? Or is this simply not possible using DTC ? And if that's the case, could you help me getting the old method to work again ? I sent the message log via the 'Send for Analysis' button just now. Your help is appreciated, thanks. |
