So it sounds as though you require the Volume Value Area Low value? If so, using the Volume Value Area Lines study is fine. You can also use the Volume by Price study for this as well:
Volume By Price Study: Calculating and Displaying Developing Point of Control, Value Area High/Low, Volume Weighted Average Price Lines

It is not a problem to use it with charts based on Number of Trades Per Bar.
