Q. What do you do to load the ES contract and then what do you do to go back to the HG contract? This is what we are not clear on. A. I click on that symbol from the quoteboard. In my example I was looking at HG and made the change, saved it, and then clicked on the ES from the quoteboard to load it and then clicked on HG again from the quoteboard my change is not saved. Q. Also, if you actually have Chart >> Chart Settings >>Automatically Rollover Futures Symbol enabled for the chart, then the the rollover happens automatically. So you would not even see the message saying that the symbol is expired. What Trading service are you using Sierra Chart with? A. Hate to tell you but that is the message I got and the box is checked for each chart. I used Infinity. Q. No. This is not normal and being that is an actively traded contract you need to ask your broker about this. Because this will result in you not receiving real-time market data. A. I have checked with them in the past about your charts and the people the tell me to talk to don't have a clue about your charts. All the charts are fine now that the Sept has expired but this will may come up again on the next roll though I can't explain why it hasn't before. I tried loading the 5 symbols in question and 4 were fine. The 5th one, ZW, gave me the symbol unknown message for about 90 seconds and then that disappeared. I still don't understand why you make us look at a symbol that we will not trade, meaning it is too close to rollover, instead of allowing us to change it and save it so the one we want comes up next time. Can I change it on the quoteboard and save that and then I won't have to look at a "near dead" contract? |
