Hello there Sierra Charts, I have heard positives reviews and good things about Sierra Charts and I would like to ask some questions as I am considering switching my main platform. I saw on your own forum and on futures.io, and also on your own web that you are working to add native support for Mac and Linux. [“We are working to add native support for Mac OS and Linux. This is an ongoing task.”] I think that is brilliant and we Mac and Linux users will be delighted as there are not many providers doing that at the moment not in a reliable way for retail traders, and considering the numbers and the fact of Windows users that are not happy with MS way of conducting business you would be able to capitalize on it due to increase demand. Do you guys have any time estimate at all please, of when the Mac and Linux project will be implemented? Also if I decide to use Optimus I believe that I could get Sierra free of charge [package 3] than I will also need NYSE historical data to trade with my Interactive Brokers account so I would sign for NYSE historical data from Sierra plus exchange fees. Then I have Optimus for futures and IB for stocks/etfs/cfds as my main brokers and the historical/backfill data from Sierra, is this set up would work as standard/normal? One last sort of subjective question, I do not code myself but I do have some understanding of it, my programmer does EL and some C#, as there are many similarities between C# and C++ which Sierra is based, again it may be subjective but do you think it would be a problem for him to translate his knowledge of C# to C++ to build Sierra custom studies? Regards and happy new year. |
