We want to update this thread and say that we have completed certification for CME ILink order routing. This is a major accomplishment and allows us to route orders directly to the CME bypassing every one including TT and CQG. This does not mean that this is going to be publicly available as there are still many remaining steps to actually support this. We do not expect this to be available for widespread use until the middle of next year because we have to develop a proven track record first. We are working on finishing everything related to direct order routing to the CME: Now Released: Upcoming CME Direct Routing We implemented a performance improvement, with our real time data distribution. This is not something that would be noticeable as it is something that saves only microseconds but certainly is helpful, when markets are extremely active and data rates are high. We have completed all of the work related to Market by Order data and we can now start to relay this market by order data on a separate connection and also orders with a quantity of 2 and higher. Using a separate connection will reduce latency for all other market data. We will try to get that out over the next 10 days. However, this is going to require an update of Sierra Chart to receive this data. We will announce what version that will be. We do not want to relay orders with a quantity of 1 at this time. We will look into that later on. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point. We expect to be releasing the new integration to Rithmic today. We have seen some problems in testing and we are reporting these to Rithmic. This should be considered like a "beta". We are happy this is finally done and released. We are sure Rithmic will take care of the issues. We are also going to be releasing in the next few days the completely new model of creating and managing trade accounts for this service: Simulated Futures Trading Service This is going to be a major enhancement, and allows users to easily create, modify, delete and share trade accounts, and their trade statistics with other users, all within Sierra Chart . This is also the same functionality which will be used for our direct CME order routing. So this gives us a chance to test this new interface and some additional enhancements to risk management like separate daytrading margins and support for initial margin as compared to maintenance margin. With direct CME routing, it will not be possible for users to share their trading accounts with others. That feature is not available with that service for security reasons. At some point read-only sharing would be supported. (Update: Actually the account sharing would be possible, but only if the clearing firm allows it. That would be their decision. Both read only and read/write sharing is currently supported with that service. ) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. When using the Sierra Chart Continuous Futures Contract chart feature for Historical Daily and higher timeframe charts, the symbols used for the expired futures contracts in older versions have been the old Barchart symbols. These symbols are horrible. We have now changed the symbols for these types of charts, to use the same symbol format, as the main symbol of the chart according to the particular Data or Trading service being used. This makes all of the symbols used in a Continuous Futures Contracts are consistent and match the symbol format of the particular Data/Trading service being used. This change occurred about a month ago and affected versions since then. Although it was not mentioned in the What is New documentation. One thing to understand with this change though is that when a symbol uses a single digit year like with Transact and Rithmic, the Continuous Historical Daily charts can only go back five years. To go back more years than that, you need to use the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service: Sierra Chart Historical Data Service You will need to set up another installation of Sierra Chart to use that service. The documentation linked just above explains how to do that. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Another feature we are going to start thinking about gradually implementing as soon as we can would be real-time Chartbook sharing. This will be sharing your Chartbook with other users. As you make changes to Studies, Chart Settings, and Chart Drawings from Drawing Tools, then other users who are receiving a copy of this Chartbook, will then see those changes within a minute (we can actually decrease this to about 5 to 10 seconds). And we should be getting close to releasing the internal text chat functionality as well. We also are finishing a feature to support users sharing a Chartbook with the user base. And everyone else will be able to access these Chartbooks from within Sierra Chart. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. We became aware of a problem serving historical data which is delayed by a certain amount like 10 or 15 minutes, that has always existed. The amount of delay, was being increased by the additional amount of time to serve the data to the client user. So if a historical data download takes 60 seconds, and the normal delay is 10 minutes, therefore the data would be delayed by 11 minutes and this may result in a gap at the end of the chart. The extent of the gap, would depend upon the amount of stored time and sales data from the delayed streaming data feed. The historical data servers have been updated to resolve this issue. This issue only occurs with delayed historical data. Not real-time data. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. We have released support for the new EUREX T7 version 10 data feed: https://www.eurex.com/ex-en/support/initiatives/t7-release-10-0 So far data feed startup looks just fine. The processing of the RDI data looks correct. We are not seeing any issues but we will monitor the data feed, at 215 a.m. Central European Time, November 22, 2021. It has been extensively tested with the T7 simulation feed and there were issues in the beginning, but those are resolved. However, we have to see how it works in production. We have completed development for the FairX exchange with direct order routing, with no reliance on any other provider. We will be providing this directly to the clearing firms. We are going to be doing testing this coming week, November 28, and completing certification with FairX. With the CME raising their prices again, in January for market data exchange fees, we want very much for the success of FairX, and gradually see the buildup of volume on that exchange and the eventual takeover of equity futures trading to the FairX from the CME. And also want to see success for the other contracts the FairX lists like crude oil. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Prerelease, 2352 has more performance improvements related to market depth processing. We realized there is unnecessary copying of market depth data into charts which do not need this data. This has been removed. This is a significant time savings, for data feeds that provide a lot of levels of market depth in particular when using like CQG, or Rithmic or you have set the Denali Exchange Data Feed to be providing hundreds or over a thousand levels of depth. Also various market depth calculations like summing, are performed just once , and only as needed for all of the different market depth related features in a chart. There is still more that we can do in particular with minimizing graphics output. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Another thing we would like to discuss are the new settings windows. The new Chart Settings window we should be releasing next week. It is very well organized with all of its settings, where related settings are grouped together under each tab, and labeled appropriately. Over time, the existing Chart Settings window, has controls that should be grouped together, and instead are scattered among the tabs because it is too difficult to be rearranging the controls on these types of dialogs. These types of dialogs from Microsoft, also malfunction where they sometimes do not display, and they are very very resource inefficient. We also are going to be organizing the controls by category in the new General Settings window and adding more tabs and labeling them appropriately. As we were working on performance improvements for the Chart and Trade DOM, we discovered a stability issue, when the Current Traded Volume columns are set to be included in the Chart/Trade DOM. This issue absolutely could lead to an exception within Sierra Chart and then subsequent issues. This is fixed in version 2357 which we are releasing now. Update: This may actually not have caused a problem. If it did, we would have detected it long ago and never did. Probably it would never really have been an issue. So our conclusion that this was definitely going to cause a problem, is not an accurate conclusion. Further update: The issue we found, definitely could lead to a problem but it would be unlikely to have been encountered. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. This is from Microsoft (Also applies to all versions of Windows starting with 7): Windows 11 includes many visual effects, such as animations and shadow effects. These look great, but they can also use additional system resources and can slow down your PC. This is especially true if you have a PC with a smaller amount of memory (RAM). To adjust the visual effects in Windows Select Search, type performance, then select Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows in the list of results. On the Visual Effects tab, select Adjust for best performance > Apply. Restart your PC and see if that speeds up your PC. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
