You made the statement that "it does not add up to the current traded bid and ask on "new computer" but it does on the "old computer"".

We have only been looking at the volumes of the VbP and thinking they were not the same between the two computers. Are the volumes in the VbP the same on both computers?

And is the only issue that the Current Traded Bid + Ask is not adding up to the volume in the VbP? If so, then how are you resetting the Current Traded Bid/Ask columns to coincide with the beginning of when the Volume Profile is starting?

Unless you have a custom study to do this, you would have to be selecting the "Reset Current Bid and Ask" to reset those columns. And then make sure that your Volume by Price Profile is also resetting at the right time.

Sorry to confuse the conversation
the main issue is that the volume by price (total volume at price is different between the two computers
I just noted that on one computer i am able to add up the bid and ask and it equals the total. I am looking at edges (top or bottom) where it is easier to see the difference
I was just commenting on that as an observation; didnt know if that would be helpful

I thought of just uninstalling and reinstalling sierra charts and creating charts from scratch to see if that fixes the problem ? not sure where to go at this point ?
will wait to hear back from you

Thank you

Do not uninstall. That will not help anything. There has to be a reason for this, although when we looked at your charts everything looked fine.

Here is what we would like for you to try - please do the following on both systems for the Trading DOMs:
- Go to "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Session Times" and turn off the Evening Session.
- Also ensure that the main Session Times just cover the day session (09:30 - 17:00 New York time)
- On the Volume by Price study set the following:
- Volume Graph Period Type: From Session Start Time to End

Then compare the two profiles and let us know if they are not the same.

Additionally, refer to:
Volume By Price Study: Volume Profile Differences

This is definitely totally unnecessary and we would not recommend that:

I tried making the changes to the session times you suggested.
I also followed all of the changes in the Volume Profile Differences section that you suggested
I thought some of these might correct the problem
Unfortunately however the discrepancy between the two computer systems persists.
The volume by price is consistent within each computer if i use or compare volume by price on bar charts to the trade DOM. Just not between the two computers

Another point i wanted to mention in case it was pertinent. I launched three separate platforms on the new computer. I assume this should be ok but i have never done this before and just wanted to make you aware. This was based on a suggestion of a computer technical person.

Thanks for your help

You can have as many instances of Sierra Chart as you want running on a single computer. If you are using the option for "File >> New Instance", then there is no issue with the data.

But, if you have separate installations, then you can only get the Denali data to a maximum of 3 different installations at the same time. Refer to the following:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: Denali Exchange Data Feed Connections on Same Computer Simultaneously

Are you having consistent results on the one computer with the multiple instances?

There has to be something different in the Sierra Chart setup between the computers. Check the "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Intraday Data Storage Time Unit" on both systems and see if they are set the same. In general it should be 1 tick, but there are reasons why it might not be.

If not this, then there is something else.

Please do the following some time today on the "New" computer:
- Select File >> Disconnect
- Expand your Trading DOM for the ZN where you have seen the discrepancy (maximize if you like) - we want to be able to see the Time that listed in the Chart Header when you take the image.
- Please take an image of the Trading DOM and attach it to this thread. Let us know the time that is shown in the Chart Header - just in case it is not in the image.

We will then compare this to a chart that we setup to match yours. If the profiles match, then our recommendation is to simply stick with the New computer and chalk this up to some setting that is different on the old one. Otherwise, we will have to figure out what is different.

1) i am having consistent results in the volume by price study on the computer using multiple instances

2) The intraday storage tick unit is 1 tick on both computers

3) I did notice there was about a 10 second differnce in the clock header between the two computers although i dont believe this accounts for the differences i am seeing (as they occurred at earlier times

I am sending a screenshot of the the chart with ZNZ23 on the new computer and old computer.

Thank you

i am not sure if you did anything on your end ?
But this morning i noticed that the volume by price numbers are the same on both computers.
Initially the numbers were not the same on one platform on the "new" computer when looking at ES but then i updated to the latest version and made sure all the settings were the saame and i was able to get the volume by price the same on both computers when looking at the ZN and ES.
I was also going to mention that the "new" computer is running Windows 11 and the "old" computer is running Windows 10; not sure if that is important

Thank you for your help.

No, we have no control over your charts or your settings. Nothing has changed in newer versions either.
