maybe instead of a password.. make it so you can only change the settings once x amount of time the user sets...

for example...

i enter 7 days into box... SC will then apply settings and will not allow user to change settings for 7 days. and includes a countdown timer to when time is up and available to change again

this is better than a password. because those can be lost, and also allow user to change settings if on tilt.

also make it so you can do % drawdown of account and updates daily, like teton does

Hi

BEWARE with the Global P/L Management! recently I have had problems with it! Specifically with the Profit Management, which blocked the trade without even reaching the trigger that activates the Trading lock.
I put a ticket to the support of Sierra Chart and the only solution they gave me was not to use it and deactivate it, despite having sent images and logs of what happened (at no time touched the trigger of losses or profits to lock the trades and even so it locked me a trade that would have taken very good profit!!!).

The platform is fabulous, it has a lot of potential, a lot of configuration,... BUT the technical support of Sierra Chart is the worst! and they hardly solve any doubt, always referring you to answers "from their documentation" or absurd answers without solution.

This is just not true:
.. BUT the technical support of Sierra Chart is the worst! and they hardly solve any doubt, always referring you to answers "from their documentation" or absurd answers without solution.
As can be evidenced by anyone reviewing the postings our Support board and the responses. It is just simply not true at all.

The functionality that you are using is documented here:
Global Profit/Loss Management: Introduction

It specifically says:
The functionality which is documented on this page, is not recommended to be used. It was developed in response to user requests, but it cannot work reliably on the client side. This functionality is going to be moved to the Teton Order Routing Service and managed on the server side in a highly reliable environment.

This feature is meant for day traders who carry no overnight Trade Positions in their trading accounts.

For non-simulated trading, this feature only works when connected to the market data feed and trading server (File >> Connect to Data Feed ).

This feature has the capability to send market orders to flatten all existing Trade Positions for the symbols that have open Charts or Trade DOM windows for, in any of the Trade Accounts for the Username that you are currently logged into your Trading Service with. It needs to be used with caution. It is important that you fully understand how the functionality works.

This feature has no guarantee it will work as expected because it has a dependency on the client-side calculated Daily Net Profit/Loss which could be incorrect due to invalid or incomplete fill data or pricing data or incorrect dependent settings. The probability of a malfunction of this feature is very high if you do not understand the functionality and the relevant settings are not properly configured and the required order fill data is not present or not being used correctly due to dependent settings.

Therefore, it is recommended this feature not be used. You have full responsibility with the use of it. And we will not provide technical support for malfunctions.

For information about how the Daily Net Profit/Loss is calculated, refer to How Daily Net Profit/Loss is Calculated for a Trade Account.

This feature should only be used with the full understanding of how it works.

It definitely does work properly but if you do not understand how it works and why it can behave the way that it does, even though it is working 100% correct, it can work in unexpected ways. This is why we recommend it is not used. It does work correctly, but can work in unexpected ways. This is why there are numerous warnings about it, and a recommendation not to use it.
