1. Currently the largest ask volume is highlighted but we will add the capability to highlight the largest volume at a price level. 2,3. These are done. Update Sierra Chart to version 1425 by following the instructions here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/download.php#FastUpdate Use the attached chartbook following these instructions: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_Chartbooks.html#UsingChartbookProvidedBySierraChartSupport Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. To change the colors of the chart, this can be done through Chart >> Graphics Settings. Refer to: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_GraphicsSettings.html This is not supported: if Bid Vol > Ask Vol x 300%, then add an upward red arrow on the left side.
if Ask Vol > Bid Vol x 300%, then add a downward blue arrow on the right side. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I would like to know on whether following task can be implemented in Sierra Chart or not: If price level for Maximum Value on current bar is higher than price level for Maximum Value on previous bar, then send an email to abc@abc.com. Would it be possible to implement in Sierra Chart? Do you have any suggestions? Thanks to everyone very much for any suggestions |

This can be done but requires custom programming: Advanced Custom Study Interface and Language (ACSIL) There is little doubt this is beyond your abilities. We will not provide any further support on this. It is far too advanced. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I have experience on MetaStock programming, the language is simple and easy to use. Do Sierra Chart provide a user friendly interface to trigger any buy / sell signals as shown below, such as If close price cross over the Maximum Value on current bar, then enter long position within IB account / send an email for alert. Do Sierra Chart platform provide any basic indicator features? such as RSI, MACD, Moving Average, BB ... so I only need to call this function instead of coding them from scratch. I would like to know on where to find a list of indicator features are available on Sierra Chart. Furthermore, do this forum provide support on programming issue if I get a question? Thanks, I would look into it. I think I need to study a lot before any trading activity, and would like to know on whether I still can work on programming tasks after Sierra package expired or not. It seems take me more than 6 months to study this language, during this period, there is nothing to do with trading at all. or Do I still need to pay for Sierra Chart's subscription monthly? in order to practice programming during this study period. Does anyone have any suggestion? Thanks to everyone very much for any suggestions Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-06-10 03:44:58

Yes, I think you have many hours of study needed. If you want to keep practicing and testing using Sierra chart with the numbers bars, then you will still need to pay for a subscription to service pack 5. If you have a subscription to service pack 5, then you will get free access to Sierra charts historical data service. If you are not actively trading live, then the historical data is all you need to learn with. Sierra Chart Historical Data Service |

For considering auto-trade, is there any feature on Sierra Chart to trigger buy / sell signal on my IB account? On the other words, is API connection existed between IB and Sierra Chart? so my program would trigger any signal automatically based on my trading strategy. Can it be done in Sierra Chart? Does anyone have any suggestion? Thanks to everyone very much for any suggestions Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-06-10 06:09:28

If you have Excel experience, you can also develop an autotrader using Sierra Chart's Spreadsheet System for Trading study. Yes, this spreadsheet study can automatically trigger any entry or exit from formulas based on your trading strategy. Or you can use Sierra's ACSIL c++ interface language, which is even more powerful, albeit more complex. |

I get Excel experience, which tell me that Excel is not stable for handling online trading, and would like to know on whether signal can be triggered directly from Sierra Chart into IB account. The important issue is stable and not crash for online trading. For Sierra's ACSIL c++ interface language, would it be possible to show some example on how simple the interface is to set trading strategy? For example, if price level for Maximum Value on current bar is higher than price level for Maximum Value on previous bar, then send an email to abc@abc.com. Does anyone have any suggestion? Sierra's spreadsheet studies are internal, written by Sierra engineers, and do not use nor need an Excel installation. Sierra's spreadsheet studies use many Excel-named functions, so they are mostly 'Excel compatible'. Sierra Chart is very stable, and so are the spreadsheet studies. Again, yes, the 'signal can be triggered directly from Sierra Chart into IB account'. What you want to do is possible with Sierra Chart. Read the documentation, then experiment. There will be a 'learning curve' so be persistent. |

I would like to know on how to open Sierra's spreadsheet studies for VBA programming. I have opened a chartbook, Detach/Attach Spreadsheet is only available under Spreadsheet. After clicking Detach/Attach Spreadsheet, I don't see anything related to Excel interface for VBA programming. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks to everyone very much for any suggestions |

Sierra's spreadsheet studies do not support VBA programming. To open a spreadsheet study, you must add it to the chart as you would any indicator: Analysis >> Studies >> add it from the list in the left pane. Most of the questions you are asking are answered in the documentation. It is expected that the user would go there first. |

Referring to attached image - Symbol.png and Data Source.png, I would like to know on where to find SC Historical Data [This Instance] within Spreadsheets > Find Symbol, I could not find it from new installed Sierra Chart - Default.png. I can find any ES related symbols as shown below, but cannot find ESU6 Future symbol at all. ES~.FUT_SPREAD.CME | ES Futures Spreads under Futures Spreads (SC Exchange Data) E-Mini S&P 500 - GBLX under Future - Indices ES?##-$INX | S&P500 Futures to Cash Premium | S&P Indices Do you have any suggestions? Thanks to everyone very much for any suggestions New Spreadsheets have a new referencing method for chart data and studies which automatically adjust to studies being reordered. This prevents having to change formulas when studies are inserted or reordered. This is explained in this video. https://www.sierrachart.com/Videos/New%20Spreadsheets.wmv Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-06-11 13:37:18
