Does anyone know of a Teton linked brokerage account that also allows for oil equities trading, as well as futures? I have an Interactive Brokers account as well as SierraChart, but I'm paying double subscriptions for everything, plus I'd like to handle everything from only one platform, Sierra. Any suggestions please? Many thanks

The Teton Order Routing Service only works with the CME Group. Therefore, it can not be used for any equities trading, as it is not setup to do so. You do not need to be paying double with Interactive Brokers. You can get your data from our Denali Exchange Data Feed and do everything through Sierra Chart. You just have to have the Interactive Brokers TWS software running on the system in order for Sierra Chart to interact with it (this is how the interface to Interactive Brokers functions). Thanks, that's a workaround for now, though then I'm still using IB's slow executions. Do you perhaps have a link on this please? Roger

OK now that I've disabled simulated trading in Sieera the orders appear on IB. Now I just need to work out how to attach the Sierra stop and limit orders.

The symbol "Zs-NQTV" is not appropriate for Interactive Brokers. You need to use the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" when getting your data for U.S. Equities from us and trading with Interactive Brokers and enter the appropriate symbol for Interactive Brokers. You will also want to set the "Use as Trade Only Symbol" to "Yes". Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Trade and Current Quote Symbol (text box) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu) Chart Settings: Use as Trade Only Symbol (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol menu) Interactive Brokers Symbols: Stock Format For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Thanks, but that's all very difficult to understand. Please could you provide a specific "do this" example on how to trade Nasdaq stocks on IB while using the Denali ???-NQTV Nasdaq total view stocks feed and placing the order from Sierra. Or if you wish I'm happy to pay you to help me with this. Thanks

In order to get the data from us, you need to use the symbol with the -NQTV at the end, such as ZS-NQTV. But Interactive Brokers does not recognize that symbol, therefore, you need to enter a "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" in the Chart Settings that has the appropriate symbol for Interactive Brokers. For example: - Symbol: ZS-NQTV - Trade and Current Quote Symbol: ZS-STK-SMART-USD - Use as Trade Only Symbol: Yes You would need to check with Interactive Brokers on exactly what you need for their stock symbols. The above is the information we have, but you may want something specific. You can setup your symbol settings so that when you select a symbol the Trade and Current Quote Symbol are set as you want them. You can also use wildcard characters in the Trade and Current Quote Symbol entry in the Symbol Settings so you can use the generic symbol settings which will then apply for any symbol that does not have their own symbol settings. For example, there are symbols settings for ?-NQTV, ??-NQTV, ???-NQTV, ????-NQTV, and ?????-NQTV. These represent the symbols for our NASDAQ TotalView exchange and cover the symbols from 1 character long (?-NQTV) to 5 characters long (?????-NQTV). You can edit the symbol settings for ?-NQTV and set the "Trade/Quote Symbol" to be "?-STK-SMART-USD" and the same for the other entries. This way, when you open a chart for one of the -NQTV symbols, the Trade and Current Quote Symbol will automatically be filled in with the appropriate symbol for Interactive Brokers. Refer to the following: Global Symbol Settings: Instructions Note that this will not apply to already open charts, it will only apply when a new chart is opened, or a symbol in a chart is changed. The existing charts will have to modified individually for the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol". Also, note that that the above is only for symbols that do not already have individual symbol settings. For instance, there is an existing AAPL-NQTV symbol settings, so you would need to modify that individual item in order for a new chart for AAPL-NQTV to have the Trade and Current Quote Symbol set correctly. Thanks, but I cant get it to work. Which symbol do I look for in the Symbols box on the left, the IB setting (???-STK-SMART-USD) or the Denali symbol (???-NQTV)

The Denali symbol, since that is the actual symbol of the chart that you will be using. So as we stated, you edit the symbol settings for ???-NQTV (among others) and enter a "Trade/Quote Symbol" of "???-STK-SMART-USD" (no quotes).

That doesn't work for me. I've edited the Global Settings/symbols. But when I open a new chart the Global ??-STK-SMART-USD doesn't show up when I try to place an order. I can apply the full IB code to the chart settings and it works, but that's not the objective with 100 charts

If you have set it up right, then when you open a new chart the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" will be setup correctly for Interactive Brokers. What is the symbol of the chart you opened and what is the "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Trade and Current Quote Symbol" set to? As we stated previously, this only applies to new charts or when you change the symbol. You will have to update the 100 charts that you already have open individually. The chart symbol is AMAT-NQTV and when I open a new chart, chart/chart settings/symbol/Trade and current quote symbol is blank. I have already set the global symbol settings for ????-NQTV to ????-STK-SMART-USD.

AMAT-NQTV has its own symbol settings (there are some symbols for which the symbol settings already exist). In this case, you need to edit that symbol directly and enter the appropriate Trade/Quote symbol (AMAT-STK-SMART-USD).

Hello User109115 and SC Support -- With the above discussion around symbol matching between SC and IBRK, is there a "better" stock trading platform that integrates without issue with SC? I fear that with needing to customize symbol settings and really all details listed in this thread that it will slow down orders. I am not asking trading advise but, there's a lot of caveats in your IBRK SC document page (SC basically says it's a pain in the ...). What platform do you suggest? I am with IBRK and I really love SC. I can change brokers, no problem. Thank you so much. |

The only broker that we connect with that supports equity trading is Interactive Brokers.

User554553, in the end I've found it easier just to continue placing stock trades manually on the IB platform, and pay the double Nasdaq data fees, cheap enough. However, for futures the Sierra orders based on the chart DOM link very nicely to TWS, so no need for double CME/NYMEX fees, this is very helpful for me. I guess it depends how many stock charts you will have to manage in Sierra as to whether it worth trying the integration all the stocks with TWS. Pity that there's not an alternative to IB for stocks though
