Exceeded number of allowed systems

Hello,

I use Sierra Charts on two different computers on a frequent basis. I constantly get the error message "this login has exceeded the number of allowed systems" error when closing down on one machine, and switching to the other. Sometimes this results in a prolonged period of no access, such as now; I haven't been able to login for the last 30 minutes or so.

I'd prefer not reach out to support every time this happens, is there anything I can do to prevent this from re-occurring?

Your account is limited to 1 system at at time since it is not a direct Sierra Chart account:

With a direct account, you will be able to use Sierra Chart on 2 computers simultaneously, avoiding this problem.


Or you can request to have two accounts through your broker.


The lockout should not be 30 minutes, it should be only be a couple of minutes. We do see that you have one active connection at the moment.

We have also temporarily increased your limit to two computers, so you can get connected.

hello, i keep getting this same error and my subscription should be allowed for 2 systems.

Yet as far as i know, it it currently running only on a single one and i cannot open it now..

Or is there any way to see, on which IPs it is running?

You are allowed 2 systems and you have two systems connected. We also see that there are additional systems trying to connect using the same Account Name. We can tell you the Computer Names that have either connected or tried to make a connection today. These are the following:
- DESKTOP-H33R7AL
- CZEPNB00097

- vmi610682

this is really strange because it was not working and as soon as i put the credentials again it was.

BTW is there any way for me as a user to see which computers are connected?

This is happening to me as well. It says on my account control panel that I am only using 1 out of 3 systems allowed. I have 2 installations on 1 computer. Only 1 installation has an issue. I've never even used a different device for Sierra Chart.

You have a different issue. You are not using multiple systems, and as you state, your Control Panel is showing that you are only using 1 system.

We do see that you are using multiple Sub-Instances, and that you are on the release you need to be for those to be working properly. So what exactly is the issue you are having with the one installation.

I have 1 installation to CQG. It is working.
I have another installation to TT. That one is not. No data or depth.

The important thing is that you are working again.

We do not have a way for user's to see what systems are logged in.

This means that you have too many connections to the data service, not the number of computers. But, you should not have this issue if you have just 2 installations on the same computer (that is not a problem). If you have 3 installations, then that would cause an issue.

But, we do find this a bit odd, as the system is also showing that you do not have any additional systems in use, so it's not caused by a separate computer.

What we need for you to do is to exit out of your Sierra Chart software (all instances) and then log back in again and use the Forced Login option for the logins. Refer to the information here:

Using the force login on the installation with the problem seems to have solved the issue.

All we can say is that the system got confused. The Forced Login has the system get updated by our servers for any changes. Therefore, it got "reset" in terms of the number of other systems in use. You really should not have had the issue given the way you say you are setup. But, if it does happen again, just go through the same process.
