We see you are running Sierra Chart on wine, and you are getting an http error.

This is a typical error that we see with users running Sierra Chart under wine:
Windows error code 18: No more files.

There is a solution to this and we will work on it. We can bypass the operating system HTTP functions.

Not sure how soon we can release this. But we will try to have it out by next week.

Hi,

I was just curious to know whether the work-around discussed above is part of Sierra Chart 1239 or 1248 (I just upgraded to check). I'm experiencing the same issue with 1239 and 1248 under WINE 1.6.2: intraday loads fine, but daily always yields that Error 18. (I guess somehow I never needed daily data until today? Either that, or it may have worked in the past, I have no old logs to confirm.)

If I can help track this thing down in any way, please let me know. I haven't used winedbg before but am willing to learn if it can help the Linux Sierra Chart user community. :)

No, we have not made any changes yet with how data is downloaded from the Sierra Chart Historical Data service when using HTTP. We have to add HTTP proxy support before we can do that.

Understood. I think I'll fire up my old WinXP VM in VirtualBox in the mean time. Trading's risky and difficult enough as it is without adding O/S risk with WINE. Great option still for simulation, though.
