Clear Trade and Current Quote Symbol On Symbol Change doesn't work on linked charts

I have 5 charts that are linked by Symbol, all of them have the setting "Clear Trade and Current Quote Symbol On Symbol Change" enabled (which had to be done chart by chart - no way to do that globally?). Once I change the symbol on chart#1, the symbol correctly change on all charts, but the "Trade and current quote symbol" clears only on the first chart from where I changed the symbol, and doesn't get cleared on the other 4 charts. I'm running the latest stable build (2679), is that a bug? |

How exactly are you changing the symbol for the chart?

I've tested using "Find Symbol > Change Chart Symbol" and by changing to another symbol from a watch list ... both yielded the same result. The symbol changes on all 5 charts (because they are linked), but the trade/quote symbol doesn't get cleared except on the first chart where I changed the symbol on, the other charts still show the old trade/quote symbol even though they all have the "Clear Trade and Current Quote Symbol On Symbol Change" set to enabled/yes. We just tried both of those methods to change the symbol and the Trade and Current Quote symbol is getting removed properly from all linked charts (with Symbol linking) when a chart that has the option for "Clear Trade and Current Quote Symbol on Symbol Change" has the symbol changed. Please get us your chartbook so we can see if we can reproduce this with your setup. I don't think this is chart specific, maybe I'm doing something wrong. > I did a fresh installation of 2679, opened two charts on "SC Data - All Services". Linked on "link #1" and type "Link Symbol". > Picked symbol NQZ24-CME (got set on both charts), Go to "Chart Settings > Symbol" for each of them, set "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" to MNQZ24-CME, can see it on both chart header and the bottom tabs NQZ24-CME/MNQZ24-CME. > Go to "Chart Settings > Trading" for each of the 2 charts, set "Clear Trade and Current Quote Symbol on Symbol Change" to "Yes". > Go to chart#1, change symbol to ESZ2424-CME, changes on both charts, but on chart#2, I can still see "ESZ24-CME/MNQZ24-CME". This is with the fresh installation, no settings/charts or anything imported. |

Sorry, we missed the following initially: - You need to have the "Trade/Quote Symbol" also linked in your linking options. This will make it so any changes to the "Trade and Current Quote Symbol" will be reflected in all linked charts. Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Chart Linking >> Trade / Quote Symbol (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Linking menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
