My profit and loss shows a negative in my trade window when I have use commissions selected. When I look at my profit and loss in trade activity log also while using commissions it shows correctly. When I don't use commissions the trade window P&L is correct and matches what is show in the trade activity log. The only thing I can think of is it is using the wrong commission I set in the ES symbol. Does the Activity log and the Trade Window use a different commission? This happens when I have trade simulation turned on. |

In order to display commissions on the Trade Activity Log, you need to select "Display Settings" and set the option for "Use Commission" to "Yes". In order to have the commissions showing in the Daily Profit/Loss on the Trade Window, you need to set the option for "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading >> Use Symbol Commission Settings in Trade List and Statistics Calculations". Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Use Symbol Commission Setting in Trade List and Statistics Calculations (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading menu) It sounds like you have the first set, but not the second. When I set the "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading >> Use Symbol Commission Settings in Trade List and Statistics Calculations". the profit and loss are way off. It does not agree with what shows in the Trade activity log. It seems that the symbol commission being used in the trade window is much greater that the commission being used in the Trade activity log. When i set use commission to "No" in both places the profit and loss agree but when I set the use commission to "Yes" in both places the trade window shows a much larger loss than the trade activity log. I am sending 2 images that show the profit and loss in the trade activity log and the trade window. One is with commissions and one is without commissions. You will see that the image without commission are the same except that the trade window is off by a factor of 10. this is another issue that I would like to fix. This image with commissions are totally different and the Trade window loss is much greater making me believe that the commission being used by both windows are different. This is with trade simulation mode turned on. |

What is the commission that you have set in Global Settings >> Symbol Settings and for what exact symbol?

We looked closely into this, and the commission is used identically in a chart as compared to the Trade Activity Log but if you make a change to the commission in Global Symbol Settings the chart is not going to use that until it is reloaded. We resolved that issue. And we tested, using a symbol like ES using Teton which has a different price format, natively from the exchange. Just like Rithmic.
