I have been using Sierra now for years but have always had trouble with the simple task of setting tool defaults. While I always managed to get by in the past I'm now stuck with the latest upgrade, specifically Type Text, and getting nowhere with it. I would really appreciate it if you can point me to the help section that covers this so I can finally learn how to do this the proper way. I have tried to find it but can't seem to pin down the appropriate file that specifically covers this. Thanks |

There is not a "Default" setting for tools. There are Configurations. Whatever configuration you last used for a tool will be the configuration that is used for the next time you use that tool unless you specifically select a different configuration to use. Therefore, if you only use a single set of settings for a tool, then it is best to change the settings for "Configuration 1" for that tool and always use Configuration 1. Refer to the following regarding configurations: Chart Drawing Tools: Drawing Tool Configuration Otherwise, if you want a certain set of configurations, then you would setup those configurations as you want and then setup a control bar button to select the tool and configuration at the same time. Refer to the following: Chart Drawing Tools: Creating Control Bar Buttons which Select Drawing Tool and Drawing Tool Configuration in One Step For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
