After the update to 2648, the platform closes completely uncontrollably (several times now). I already had this problem with 2644 or 2646. Even then I went back to 2642 and no problems.
Now I'm back to 2642 and so far no problems.

Is there anything specific you are doing before the problem occurs when this happens? Or is it just random.

I would say random but on the other hand one time I placed an order in the DOM and 1/10seconds later down

Do you use keyboard shortcuts to submit orders?

We have no explanation for the problem at this time and we doubt very much we would ever have an explanation. We would never be able to reproduce this problem.

We think it is really a matter of chance, that it is happening with certain versions and not others. The likelihood of a newer version actually having a problem like this, is extremely low. And there is no evidence of that from our side. As we said, a problem like this is completely impossible for us to ever reproduce under any conditions.

See if the problem occurs on the latest prerelease. This is all we can say at this time.

I have no way of narrowing down the error and would therefore like your support.
In the attached video I started with version 2643.
From 7:09 I was at 2645 and that's when the problems started.
From 8:19 I had created a completely new CHT without studies. Problems continue
From 8:57 I even started with a completely new "exe" (2646), which I had previously downloaded from your homepage. The newly created CHT without studies was used again.
From 9:45 I switched from CQG to Denali... Without success.
A little later I tested something again and again aborted. But this time I received a message shortly before.... could only read "Exception..." and then the platform was already down.I have a crash report of this abortion (I think).

With version 4649 was the same problem.

I have two PCs in use and I also have the problem with the other one. Both are from the "Intel NUC8" family (1x i3 and 1x i7).

Many thanks

If there is a dump file generated we have a good chance of determining what the problem is. We are going to look at that today.

We need you to use version 2649. Go to this subfolder in the folder where 2649 is installed:
\CrashReports

Remove all of the .dmp files from there.

Reproduce the problem and if there is a dmp file, created there, attach it here.

This test must only be run on version 2649.

Fortunately, I recorded the session. Unfortunately, I didn't get a crash report.
But I did get this message log entry before the platform closed uncontrollably.
I hope it is helpful.

I can only reproduce the fault as soon as I place/flatten/reverse etc. orders.

Again two uncontrolled shutdowns generated, but no crash report nor message logs

This is the problem. This is extraordinarily difficult for us to track down the problem without a dump. It really is impossible for us to know the cause. And we are highly suspicious this is the fault of the operating system, or the compiler.

We have seen an issue like this going on for years among some users intermittently. We suspected, it related to too much stack space being used but that never made any sense. It just never made sense. And web reduced the space being used, and never heard about it for a long time. But that may have just simply been chance that that was the case. These versions where you are experiencing the problem have even more reduced stack space. There should never be a problem though to begin with.

And we are never ever ever able to reproduce the problem. At this time we have three users reporting the problem.

Does anyone else experience this issue?

The dump file you attached before, are you sure, it was created when this problem occurred? If so, we will try to figure out what revision it is associated with.

That exception that you show in the log relates to graphics.

I've had it crash on me when clicking "Disconnect" for the data services, I've had it crash on me while clicking buy from the chart trader, and when I've been doing nothing.

Really frustrating. Trying to roll back to see if that helps.

I am sure that the crash report was created after the shutdown. Just today I downloaded the latest version from the homepage and put it on a disk that I don't normally use for this purpose.

Revision was 2646

2634 has been solid for me for the past hour or so. I trade Rithmic accounts with Denali data feed connected to both Apex and Topstep servers. I wonder if something in the Rithmic code is the culprit here.
[2024-06-26 17:25:02]
Sierra_Chart Engineering - Posts: 16387
No it is not Rithmic. We are now able to create the heap corruption issue. But we would like a Chartbook from someone, to help us with testing. We are still not yet isolating the problem but we are making progress.

We are working on the problem. In your case the problem is very easily reproducible.

We may have confused this latest issue, with something else that we have seen in the past. Since it looked very similar but we think it is a different problem.

As I had already written, I had taken the current version from your homepage (2646) for "neutral" testing and installed it on a completely different disk. I then left SC in its original state.
I then used "Find Symbol" to create a chartbook for the FDAX, consisting of an M15 chart without studies and a DOM also without studies.
Then the first test run and immediately after a few seconds the abortion (see my video)

I had even taken an older CHT that was last used in January. Rollover... and test run ... and then immediately aborted.
From my point of view, every CHT causes this problem.

I have no problems with 2642. Everything is stable
