Price Display Format & Tick Size Anomaly - Will always revert back to 0.01

When loading chart symbols with unusual values (less than $1 value or more than $10,000) there's the need to change the price format for more or less price "resolution".

The issue - After setting the desired "Price Display Format", "Tick Size" and "Auto-Set From Data Feed" to NO, changing the symbol to another symbol resets the PDF & TS back to 0.01

I bump into this issue when dealing with equities under $1 when I need more resolution (lower tick size, typically 0.001), and also when dealing with BTC-USD when I need less resolution (higher tick size, typically $10)
This means every instance I change a symbol on a chart, I need to go back to the chart's settings (for each of the charts) and change the PDF & TS again.

This directly affects the VbP study for example, as it uses the tick size to render the width of each VbP volume bar.

Thanks!

There is the option "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Do Not Change Symbol Settings for Chart on Symbol Change", but this will cause all symbol settings to not update and is not something we recommend. The documentation for this is here:
Chart Settings: Do Not Change Symbol Settings for Chart on Symbol Change (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol Settings menu)

Otherwise, there is not a specific solution that will not update the "Tick Size" and "Price Display Format".

Another option is to update the symbol settings for the instruments you are viewing such that the Tick Size and Price Display Format is set as you want for those, so when you change the chart it will update to those settings.

So, if for example the stock is trading at 0.001 values and the Auto Set From Data Feed is set to Yes, why is it still conforming to 0.01?

This is just how it is. It depends upon the Symbol Settings originating from the server and that is a setting which has been preset to .01 for stocks.
