I added a chart for MESM24-CME using SC DATA ; the chart downloads, displays [M] Swap to Interactive Broker Data for trading > Symbol translates to MES-202406-CME-USD ; chart redownloads & displays[M] But, if I swap back to SC DATA > Symbol stays stuck as MES-202406-CME-USD with no [M] displayed and no more data (if I manually update the symbol back to MESM24-CME, then it works with live data [M], but I lose all drawings, etc). The above process works without problems for other symbols, e.g. YMM24-CBOT, 6BM24-CME, MYMM24-CBOT and even ESM24-CME > For example MYMM24-CBOT > MYM-202406-CBOT-USD > MYMM24-CBOT or ESM24-CME > ES-202406-CME > ESM24-CME I can swap back and forth between SC DATA and IB, and all charts translate their symbols, keep live data, display [M], and keep drawings, show IB trade fills when connected to IB data, and dont show IB fills when connected to SC DATA - it all works perfectly. I tried deleting all my MES charts in the data folder and adding them agin within Sierra Charts through symbols while connected to SC DATA, but as soon as I go to IB data and then back to SC data, I get the same problem. It only applies to MES, and the problem is replicated in other contract months. Am I doing something wrong, or do I have some simple setting somewhere wrong that is triggering this problem with MES charts? Is there anything else I can provide to help diagnose the problem? |

To update: Tried the 2645 prerelease version > problem remains. It is only the MES contract; I haven't had any problems with other contracts. I trade MES and wanted to use analysis on SierraCharts (using SC DATA) on symbol MESM24-CME 90% of the time without firing up IB. Then, on a day I want to trade, I fire up IB, connect to IB [trading] with all my chart settings, then close IBRK when not trading and go back to pure and simple SierraCharts with SC DATA. I can't do this, as the symbol doesn't translate back once it's converted to work with IB. I appreciate it's likely another IB symbol problem with no promise of a fix, but might it eventually get fixed? Should I start to plan workflow for a workaround? For example, could I run two separate installs/instances: one strictly for SCDATA and one strictly for IB [trading]? Then, could I copy all chart settings from MESM24-CME on the SCDATA install to MES-202406-CME-USD on the IB install? |

This is not a version specific issue. We have not yet worked on this. We had some other priorities. Yes actually this is what we recommend: could I run two separate installs/instances: one strictly for SCDATA and one strictly for IB [trading]? Then, could I copy all chart settings from MESM24-CME on the SCDATA install to MES-202406-CME-USD on the IB install?

- Working - thanks:) shame on me, I tried so hard not to have to ask for support, I am sorry I read up on problems, and that was one of the first things I tried, and I tried it more than once. I tried again, followed the instructions, and now MES works back and forth like all other symbols. I may have previously been connected to IB[trading] (and not SC DATA) when updating because I WRONGLY thought the symbols were already updated with the latest Sierra install and, therefore, needed to update while connected to IB. Or I just made a mistake. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-06-12 14:18:38

Perhaps the problem was on our side. We reviewed all of the settings and they were correct. And then we re-upload the files to the server. Maybe the server had an out of date file.

Hello, I was trying to use more micro contracts and discovered the same problem with some others, but not all of them. I followed the update global symbol several times before concluding. The Following are working: MESU24-CME (as per the previous support message) M6EU24-CME MYMU24-CBOT These are not working correctly. They convert to interactive broker symbols but do not convert back: M6AU24-CME M6BU24-CME MCDU24-CME MSFU24-CME MNQU24-CME M2KU24-CME I've attached three screenshots: SCDATA starting with correct symbols: https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1721901701673.png Move to IBRK DATA showing converted symbols: https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1721901871404.png Move Back to SCDATA with only MESU24-CME, M6EU24-CME and MYMU24-CBOT converted back: https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1721901972270.png |
