Downloading Continuous Contract Data

My chart is completely frozen on a black screen with a blue-highlighted message reading 'Downloading Continuous Contract Data'.

I've read through some other Support Board recommendations and went the process of:
> Tinkering with rollover settings
> Deleting and redownloading my data (both in Sierra and my computer's SierraChart's Data documents)
> Just letting it sit for a while (all night in my case)
> Setting the number of lookback days to 1 and then gradually increasing it
> and eventually just kind of clicking stuff that looks right

Nothing is working, however, and the most I've gotten the chart to do is completely resetting the chart and beginning the chart data to start printing real-time from the moment I reset it. Another time I was able to load a few days in March for some reason, even though nothing I could find in any settings indicates that's the date range I want to load.

I've been using Sierra for a few months now and I've never had this issue. The only two things that have changed around the time of this happening is an update I downloaded to go from v2604 to v2634 on SC, and renewing my subscription.

As per the version update: I tried reverting the update, but that didn't change anything. Then I redownloaded the current version and that didn't change anything either.

As per the subscription renewal: I double-checked to ensure I purchased the exact same package and I did.

I don't know what else to try; appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

From what we see, you are connected to, and getting your data, from Rithmic. Rithmic has a lack of historical data, so what you are seeing is normal for their data. You really should not use a "Continuous Futures Contract" with Rithmic data.

The best solution would be to use our Denali Exchange Data Feed. Refer to the information here:

I'll look into that, but why is this just now happening? I've been using Rithmic with SC for months now and I've never had this issue, and I didn't change anything at the time it started happening.

Also, if the issue is the continuous contract, then why - still - is nothing loading when I switch 'Continuous Contract (List)' to 'None'.

Edit: Just tried switching to a historical chart then back to intraday and now it's loading 11 September 2023, for some reason...

We can not say why it was working before or why it stopped now. The only thing we can say for sure is that Rithmic has a lack of historical data, and they definitely do not have data for prior contracts. Refer to our thoughts on Rithmic data at the following link:
Rithmic Trading Platform Service: Rithmic Market Data and Support Policy

If you are needing historical data, then you really need to use our Denali Exchange Data Feed.

This response kind of assumes everyone using Rithmic is experiencing the same issue, but after speaking with several people that is definitely not the case. This response also ignores the fact that in my situation "a lack of historical data" seems to mean: the inability to load any data whatsoever.

Still no changes with well over a week having passed now. There has to be some sort of solution to this given that I am the only one experiencing it.

You are definitely NOT the only one that has experienced this. We have had enough issues with Rithmic data over the years, that we wrote this:
Rithmic Trading Platform Service: Rithmic Market Data and Support Policy

As you can tell by the above, we are not happy with what people get from Rithmic data, and we will not deal with it. The only solution we can give you is to use our Denali Exchange Data Feed instead.
