Thanks so much for the ongoing work to make server side OCO a reality for so many providers! As a CTS customer, im pumped up to see 74 bring support to us. My request is for an additional Chart DOM Setting to allow a default to a MIT order in addition to the buy stop and buy limit choices.

Just to be clear, my request is based on an understanding that if i want to buy while prices are rising, i would have previously used a buy stop above current price. In order to have a server side oco with cts, i now understand that the order would need to be a MIT in order to be treated server side oco, otherwise as a stop or stoplimit order will be managed by the client. If this understanding is not correct, then my request is invalid.

ps. thanks for the toolbar addition for the clear dom volume. love it!

Your understanding is correct that you cannot use a Stop order with CTS server side bracket orders as the parent order.

We asked them about this, and it is intended to be a safety feature. They can explain it better.

You can use MIT orders instead of limit orders on the Chart/Trade DOM. You just need to enable:
Trade >> Open Trade Window for Chart >> Menu/M >> Use MIT Orders on Chart DOM.

However, check with CTS as to the functioning of their MIT orders. It might be that if a Buy MIT order is above the market, it would immediately fill. Not quite sure about this. You can always test it on the CTS simulation server.

i have tested this MIT setting suggestion. unfortunately, the behavior with that setting also effects below the market buys. this causes slippage on futures when the desired behavior is a limit order.

I have four common order scenarios. Since i sometime prefer to be 'swept into momentum', i use stops to enter those trades. With the current structure, i am required to hand enter a MIT order in the tradedom for those times i want to use server side stop entry brackets. I really appreciate the work being done to improve safety via server brackets, but for CTS customers, this behavior only protects us on our limit entry orders. i recognize most retail traders dont use stop entries, but i would ask that you look at the four entry scenarios below and consider how to enable painless server side brackets from the tradedom within the constraints of our brokers design.

BUY LIMIT below current price
BUY STOP above current price
SELL LIMIT above current price
SELL STOP below current price

We will ask CTS to see if they can support stop orders with their bracket order functionality. That would be best.

We have just contacted them now about this.

Do server-side bracket orders at CTS support stop or MIT for take profit in SC, or is it just limit orders? Are there plans for this, as part of the excellent new bracket support in SC? Without stop or MIT for the child TP, then a trade might never see a take profit exit executed. Since I use automated strategies, I need to use ACSIL. CTS is supposedly adding trailing stop support to brackets soon (awesome and could probably add profitability for me), but for now, I need to exit at market and need for it to be server-side (I scalp into momentum, so brackets are better as a single order is communicated to the broker).

Also, are server-side buy and sell stop exits supported at CTS via OCO orders in SC? My understanding is that sending an OCO is similar to sending a bracket (brackets use OCO's) but the parent order needs to fill before child orders are sent (I guess also three orders are sent instead of one, which takes extra time). This is still better than SC 100% managing the OCO client-side. This following post (can you confirm my understanding?) says server-side buy and sell stops are supported with Rithmic at Optimus, via SC OCO orders, so I could switch to Rithmic if its server-side OCO support is better than CTS:

But CTS has been my preferred broker since it's been recommended here in the SC forums over Rithmic (has historical tick volume, has bracket orders, doesn't freeze or generally have outages).

I will need to relocate to the Aurora data center then, and have SC manage my position 100% client-side. At least it's possible with SC.

Since CTS allows MIT orders, could SC add support for server-managed OCO where one side is a MIT (for take profit) and the other side is a stop (for stop loss)? Or both sides are MIT? If T4 and CTS support that (not sure if they do) then it should be possible.

We will ask CTS if they can support this. The limitation is on their side.
