Is it common for stop and limit orders for trades entered simply with a market order (i.e. no attached orders)NOT to be honored but obviously rejected whilst in SIM mode? Is one's only recourse to exit a trade by executing manually another market order.

I checked Current quote window and the Bid-Ask prices conformed to the Last Price. My "trades" are not part of any back-testing. Just the simplest Buy/Sell @ Market to enter and then sometimes entering a Stop or Limit order to exit if I don't do it at market. They never work, so I always have to exit manually @ market.

Are you using Sierra Chart Trade Simulation Mode? Is Trade >> Trade Simulation Mode On checked?

There is no reason for a problem.

Can you provide us a chart image or video demonstrating the problem. There must be some kind of misunderstanding or mistake being made.

One thing you need to be aware of is that Sierra Chart must be running for orders to be filled in trade simulation mode.

Trade >> Trade Simulation Mode On is/has always been checked. Sierra Chart was on and running. I don't quite know how to capture "some kind of screenshot or video demonstrating the problem." Do you mean try to take a screenshot at, perhaps, the point where price has exceeded and remains above a profitable long position "Sell Limit" which was not executed as obviated by the fact that the order on the chart still remains visible??

We have run a test and we see no problem with Trade Simulation. We do not understand why you would have a problem.

Yes.

SC Engineers... If, over the course of a trading session, I have inadvertently opened 2 or 3 Trade windows, one for each chart of the same symbol (e.g. one a Daily chart, one a TPO chart and one a Range Bar chart) and the original entry was made on/from, let's say, the TPO chart, and then later I add a stop or limit order (or both) from another of those charts, does it mean that the original entry will not be covered by those subsequent stop and/or limit orders made from the different chart.

That's the only thing I can think of which I may be doing to create this problem. Earlier today the Limit order to sell did work. But now it failed here later. Screenshot attached.

Based upon this information please be aware of the following rules.

For in order to be evaluated for a fill, the following needs to be true:

- The original chart it is entered from needs to continue to be open.
-The original chart the order is entered from continues to need to have Trade >> Chart Trade Mode On checked.
-The original chart the order is entered from needs to have the Trade Account set to the same Trade Account that was being used when the order was originally entered.

This is an easy mistake to make by missing any one of those rules, I have done it several times as well. It is confusing when you use many chart windows for the same symbol. It would be useful in preventing trading errors to have a Global setting linking trade windows/attached order settings by symbol.

There is a reason why it is designed the way it is. The data for a specific chart is used to fill the order from that chart. This ensures the data is properly matched to those orders. For example, the data could be coming from a remote instance.

Most interesting in its complexity, and upon reflection, its functional and also unfortunately tedious, most practical simplicity of necessity. Thank you, FuturesOperator and SC Engineering.
