Have experienced the following problems ever since migrating to Windows 11. The problems stem from Sierrachart not creating/sustaining Windows Audio Sessions. Upon launch, SC does not even establish an audio session (show up in volume mixer). However, If I set an audio alert upon connectivity (Global Settings > General Settings) when launching SC, it triggers and a Windows Audio Session is created - but then closes after a period of time with no additional alerts. Audio alerts that are created at the chart level (Chart Settings > Alert) do not trigger/create a Windows Audio Session. Additionally, Time Alerts that I set in the Alert Manager also do not trigger/create a Windows Audio Session. If I set audio alerts with a study such as Color Bar based on Alert Condition, those audio alerts trigger and create an Audio Session (which closes after a period of time without additional alerts). I've worked around this issue by simply using studies for all alerts but just wanted to point out this issue. Depending on where you create the alerts, some work, others don't. It seems unusual that Windows Audio Sessions for SC close after a period of time. This is the only software on my PC that has this problem. |

We have no idea about this. It is a strictly an operating system issue. Does not make any sense to us.

Thanks. Not sure how it's Windows though. If an application is not in the Volume Mixer, there is no sound. - SC does not appear in Volume Mixer automatically on launch - Time Alerts for Open/Close bell repeating every weekday in Alert Manager do not cause SC to appear in Volume Mixer. - Chart level alerts for same Open/Close bell with exact same formula do not cause SC to appear in Volume Mixer. However, - Alert for same Open/Close bell using Color Bar Based on Alert Condition with exact same formula causes SC to appear in Volume Mixer. No need to comment anymore on this, I have a workaround. |

This is strictly an operating system issue. We have no idea about this. An application program has no knowledge at all of the Volume Mixer or the Windows audio session or anything like that. We just tell the operating system to play a sound file and that is it.
