I'm trying to figure out how to display with text the 5 min opening range for each day, so I can go back and quickly see the prior opening range of past sessions. So basically for each RTH session it would show opening range for that session on chart. Any help is appreciated!

Attached is a Study Collection that finds the True Range for each bar and then displays that value at the High for the bar at 09:30:00. You would apply this to a 5 minute chart in order to get the Opening Range for the first 5 minutes. Change the time as needed for what you want.

This should get you started, so you can adjust further to get exactly what you need.

Refer to the following for how to use a Study Collection:

Hi John,
I want to increase number of bars to calculate for this study, but the Study Settings screen is blank, so I'm unable to make any adjustments? Can you help?

This is a Windows issue. This should be resolved by closing down programs on your system or restarting your system. And then opening that window again.

Longer term this will be resolved once we complete, removal of all of these older Microsoft dialogs.

Thanks, I restarted my system but still have a blank window for Study Settings only for that particular study?

The True Range study has no inputs.
To increase the number of bars to calculate, go to the Color Bar Based On Alert Condition study's settings.

It was a custom study SC Support gave me that shows the 5min opening range with text above the 5min bar for each day. But the study only works going back like 10 days and there is no adjustment on the Study Settings?

Go to Chart Settings and verify that you have loaded more than 10 days of data.

Yes, I have 365 days loaded but the study actually stops after going back so many days. And it varies based on the bar period I select. So a 15min chart it goes back 30 days, 5min chart 12 days, 2 min chart goes back 3 days?

The Color Bar Based On Alert Condition study, add by the Study Collection from John, is plotting the True Range value at each opening bar.
A 5 min chart has 288 bars per 24hr day, so with the default 'Number of Bars to Calculate' set to 2000, you will only see 8 or 9 opening bars marked.

If you want to see more opening bars marked, go the the Color Bar Based On Alert Condition study and increase the 'Number of Bars to Calculate' setting.

OK I see now.....my mistake. I failed to realize there were multiple studies under this one custom study, so overlooked "Color Bar Based On Alert Condition" study to change settings on. Thanks for your help!

Point of clarification:
A Study Collection is not a custom study. It is a collection of native studies, with certain specific settings, to accomplish a single result.
