Let's walk through what led to this issue. I rolled NG forward to the G contract from the F contract. And there was a 19 day gap in the Daily Historical DATA. Thinking I need ver. 2561 for historical I updated only to find that the sub-instance won't boot. Upon further reflection if that was the issue than I should not have any historical data. Perhaps there's something else happening here. I've enclosed two screen shots one with the F contract with no issues and the other the G contract with the missing DATA.

Let's start from the beginning there are two problems here the missing DATA in the G contract which is visible both in the sub-instance and the main instance. Now I don't think you meant to suggest that safe mode would resolve the missing DATA issue.

but I did start the sub-instance in safe mode but of course there's no way to know for sure your in safe mode that I could find except by the non start of chartbooks and custom studies which actually did open..

I see "I had the open files on start up box check". I attached a SS of G NG after booting the sub in safe and drawing a new HIST Chart, just in the off hand chance I'm incorrect and you did mean to resolve the missing DATA under safe mode. Remember the missing DATA appears in all instances.

But the missing DATA remains on all instances

Now I upgraded to 2568 and opened the sub in safe mode and then proceeded to open the 9 scheduled to open chartbooks two at a time and there was no issue.

My guesses on how to resolve the sub instance crashing would be to open less chartbooks on the open or get a faster PC?

we still need resolve the missing data which is also present in ver. 2568 see second ss.

Is there a reason you are not viewing the posted Screen Shot of NG-G24-nymex. The missing Data is from approx 11-03-2023 to 11-22-2023

from the support ticket above"I rolled NG forward to the G contract from the F contract. And there was a 19 day gap in the Daily Historical DATA."

Again this gap in the DATA is uniform across all versions

We get lots of screenshots attached among users, and ignore many of them because they are simply not acceptable. The requirements are here:
Support Board Posting Information: Attaching or Posting a Screenshot/Image (Optional)

Among all of the screenshots you posted, only one of them we see has a symbol but we did not get to it, because we stopped looking at them because none of them were useful. And the one that has the symbol does not show the timescale.

To download the missing data follow the instructions here. Start with the main instance:

First I really don't understand the defensive posture.Perhaps you ignore the screen shots due to being overwhelmed but that doesn't explain how you did not address that I clearly stated which contract is the issue in the original support ticket..i DON'T WISH TO GO BACK AND FORTH

Please read carefully
Step one made sure the chart setting "disable data filing" is set NO in ver. 2538. This selection doesn't exist in the current version, 2568 so it's really a non issue.

Second step selected the "edit historical chart" menu item under the edit menu and type in a start date of 12-17-2022 twice. See screen shot.. I sent you the logs to show you that SC will not look back past 11-27-2023

Third step posted below the results showing the gap in the text file for the chart this should clearly illustrate what I'm seeing.
2023/11/03, 3.73300000, 3.79200000, 3.67900000, 3.73400000, 16706, 68045
2023/11/22, 2.94800000, 3.00400000, 2.91400000, 2.98300000, 41907, 96138

Lastly a SS of the NG-G24-nymex chart ver 2568 of SC
A reminder this began when I simply rolled from the NGF24 to NGG24 nymex contract

There is no missing data for this contract:
https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1703715886978.png

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log

Fully re-download the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download".

Or, in the case of a Continuous Futures Contract chart, follow these instructions:
Continuous Futures Contract Charts: Re-Downloading Continuous Futures Contract Data

After about a minute provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:
Support Board Posting Information: How to Post Your Message Log (Required In Some Cases)

We will then determine what the problem is.

Refer to this setting:

Data/Trade Service Settings: Maximum Historical Days to Download for Daily Data (Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Historical Daily Data)

What is it set to?

I had it set to 30 what's worse I remember changing it to 30 but not why and being that the issue arose on a symbol roll- over I probably would never have look there.

I switched it to 1000.
However no changes in the chart settings windows eg use # of days for historical charts would rectify the issue even after a complete restart of SC.

What did work though was the edit menu command"delete all data and Download" with the setting of the date to the desired day.

And WALLAH all better now. Across all entities
