In sub-instance under File -> Save As is clicked it does not save the drawings/format etc. for charts to reload from backup

Only when Save as is clicked in main instance does the chart drawings/format etc. get stored in backup for sub-instance. Any way i can change this so that when save as in clicked in sub-instance everything gets saved and i do not have to click save as every-time in main instance?

We are not understanding exactly what you are referring to. What drawings/format are you referencing and what are the backups that you are looking for?

I use sub-instance to backtest and on charts i use drawings such as lines, rectangles. When i click save-as button within sub-instance the drawings on the chart do not get saved.

I noticed this when i closed the entire platform and restarted the main and sub-instance. Once the sub-instance was reloaded after start-up all drawings (lines/rectangles) were missing.

On noticing this i wanted so reload the saved charts that i had saved 5-10 minutes back using save-as in sub-instance.
To reload charts from backup i went under sub-instance to File > Open Chart book > Folder > Backups. But here i did not see any saved files from 5-10-minutes back but saw files from prior day.

I re-drew the drawings on the sub-instance charts and then clicked save-as on the main instance. Then i went under sub-instance to File > Open Chart book > Folder > Backups. Then i saw the just saved chartbook which i could reload.

The first thing is that there should not be any issue with saving drawings in a chart in a sub-instance. We just tested to ensure there was not something strange occurring, and we are not seeing an issue with this.

Also, we are not seeing an issue with the backups of the sub-instance.

The only thing we can think is that you may be getting confused between the sub-instance and the main instance. In particular, chartbooks are not shared between the sub-instance and the main instance. So even if you have a chartbook with the same name, when you make changes to it in the sub-instance, those changes are not going to occur to the chartbook in the main instance. All sub-instance charts are completely independent from any other instance. Refer to the following on this:
Using DTC Server for Data and Trading in Another Sierra Chart Instance: Each Sub Instance is Independent

This may also be the issue with the backups. The sub-instances have their own file directory structure, so when you go to the "Backups" folder, you need to ensure that you are selecting the one that is under the sub-instance and not the folder for the main instance.

If you continue to have an issue given the above, then let us know.
