What is the name of the Chartbook?

Also, start Sierra Chart in Safe Mode and then open the chartbook and let us know if the system crashes or not. If not, then this implies that the issue is with a custom study that you are using within that Chartbook (Safe Mode does not allow for third party studies to load). Refer to the following instructions for how to start in Safe Mode:

Name of chartbook is Risk, Status.

Was on 2567 after updating to current, was also occurring on previous recent version. Have been using chartbook for a long time, was not occurring on older versions.

Crash is intermittent, difficult to determine steps to reproduce, but has occurred many times, and occurs when opening or closing a chartbook.

In case it's related, in recent version, noticed corruption of some symbols (FX futures) in watchlist, were changed to unusual symbols in the names. Removing and re-adding the symbols corrected it.

It sounds like there is a memory corruption occurring. Are you running any custom studies? Run Sierra Chart in Safe Mode:

Yes running a custom study with significant development cost, required for our trading.

However have been using it for more than 1 year with complete stability on slightly older versions, and have almost never seen crashes like this in SC or corruption of watchlist symbols for many many years of use. Something in SC seems to have changed in recent versions causing this.

Can we get you the .dmp file to investigate?

When you run Sierra Chart in Safe Mode does it resolve the problem? If so contact the developer of the custom study.

We cannot troubleshoot problems in a custom study. This has to be done by the developer of the study. The dump file is not going to help us at all.

And it is very very rare even in our own cases we would ever look at a dump file. There has been no case we have ever used a dump file from a user. There is a lot of complexity with working with those files.
