Chart Replay - manual replay not working properly

I'm using Replay say with a 5 min chart and manually advancing 1 min at a time. As the chart advances, the advance is never exactly 1 min (usually 50 or 49 sec) then on the second click it completes 1 minute (based on Time Remaining). This results in 10 or so clicks per 5 min bar, where it should be 5. Secondly, when the current bar does complete, it always overruns into the next bar (sometimes by several thousand trades). I have used all the various Jump Methods but I cant get any of them to work as they should. Do I have some other parameters set incorrectly or is there a data issue? (intraday data is set to 10 sec increments as I don't need tick). |

This could be based upon the time stamping of the data. That is just how it works. We do not understand this: Secondly, when the current bar does complete, it always overruns into the next bar (sometimes by several thousand trades).
However, it sounds as though you definitely do need to have tick by tick data. Set Sierra Chart to a Tick by Tick Data Configuration. Works better on tick data. Advancement still requires 9-10 clicks per 5min bar set to 1min increments. I assume this is just a quirk - not the neatest but usable. Thanks. |
