Dear All, There are occurrences when CountDown Timer added into 2 min time-frame chart displays more than 2 min as time remaining (see enclosure) and and sometimes in the same chart restarts with every new bar as 2:00 min remaining. What could be the issue for this inaccuracy? Thanks a lot. |

I have the same problem in a long time. CountDown Timer displays the time which isn't synchronized with the moment when bar has closed. It occurs at 1, 5, 15 min time frame. Message Log shows: Software version: 1162 | 2014-07-21 11:05:21

In both of these cases your computer's clock is not set accurately. Refer to help topic 38 here: Http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails38.html Time difference to server time: 12 seconds. | 2014-07-21 11:05:21 Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thanks a lot. I have proceeded as you indicated (except installing the NTP software). Both time zones were set up correctly as CET Brussels +1 CET. I realized today when running replay that timer is set correctly to 2:00, but during real time session it starts by every new bar at 2:55. Another indication is that my entry in the trade is displayed on the previous bar than it was really filled - please, see the white arrow in the enclosure. |

Your computer's clock is off by approximately 1 minute. Check it.

When you select the particular chart, where the timer shall be displayed, go to Analysis -> select study CountDown Timer -> Add. For particular position in the chart use the "Settings and Inputs. For others - the synchronization is ensured as per picture enclosed. |

Just to report a small bug I noticed with this Study, on adding this to a chart, in the Parameters I see you can move the Timer around the chart and click Apply in the Study Settings to ensure you are happy with the location before closing the dialogues and returning to your main Price Charts. On changing Parameteres within the Study Settings window "Initial Horizontal Position From Left" or the "Initial Vertical Position From Bottom" parameters and clicking "Apply" in the Study Settings window, the Timer isn't translated to the new location on the chart. To repeat Bug Steps: 0) First add the countdown timer study to a chart so that it is visible 1) Update the "Initial Horizontal Position From Left" or the "Initial Vertical Position From Bottom" parameters you want to use 2) Click Apply (notice that the clock doesn't move) 3) Set "Use Current price For Vertical Position" to Yes 4) Click Apply 5) Set "Use Current price For Vertical Position" to No 4) Click Apply (now you will see the Timer move to your desired location. 5) Repeat this process to move the Timer around the chart until you find your desired location EDIT ADDITION (08:19) Just noticed that although I have saved this study into my study collection which are applied to all of my charts, when I switch charts (Click through my Watch list symbols), the study disappears? But when I go back to the symbol I added it to initially, it is there. I think that I misunderstanding either the location on this study or there is a bug in the way it is drawn ad which charts it is drawn on. See attachments. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2017-03-28 07:24:52

In response to post #10, refer to the documentation for these Inputs here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TechnicalStudiesReference.php#s201 The behavior you see is already documented. Just noticed that although I have saved this study into my study collection which are applied to all of my charts, when I switch charts (Click through my Watch list symbols), the study disappears? But when I go back to the symbol I added it to initially, it is there. We will look into this.

Thanks - the documentation now explains this, Appreciate the pointer, I did start to look at this just now before you replied. Yes, the chart changing is an issue. My work around for now is by having the timer in Region 2 at the bottom of my chart and this no longer present an issue on changing charts. |

Countdown Timer jumps between 12 and 21 seconds and then adds time to bar time for some of the contracts, but interestingly, not all. This has never happened before and I've changed no settings in SC or my computer. UPDATE: Problem had occurred for 2 hrs. Posted it on here, 10 minutes later, it now appears to be working. We see you have not logged into Sierra Chart. Re-log into the support board with Help >>Support Board from the copy of Sierra Chart you are using. What is Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service set to? What symbol do you notice this with? How is the Display Continuous Time Countdown Based on Real-Time Clock Input set with the study? Is there any way to remove the "TR" in the CountDownTimer display?

Yes. Refer to the Input descriptions for this study here: Countdown Timer: Inputs There is an input for setting it to display the value only. Yeah, but "Display Value Only" changes the display to seconds only. Currently, the display is, for example: "TR: 5m 25s". I would like it to show just "5m 25s" without the "TR:" in front. Not doable without custom coding?

Yeah, basically did that, here's the snipped in case anyone is interested: //Tool.Text.Format("%s ", sc.GetCountDownText().GetChars()); <- commented out the original logic SCString StrRemainingTime; int minutes = sc.GetLatestBarCountdownAsInteger() / 60; int seconds = sc.GetLatestBarCountdownAsInteger() % 60; if (minutes) StrRemainingTime.Format("%dm %ds", minutes, seconds); else StrRemainingTime.Format("%ds", seconds); Tool.Text = StrRemainingTime; |
