Hi I have changed my data service from teton to Rithmic direct and noticed that the trade activity data from teton is no longer appearing on the activity log when switching back to teton. I tried to refresh log but it looks like the data is wiped. Is this the normal behaviour when switching data services? Would the Activity Log be stored somewhere in the files I could possibly retrieve? Regards Avi |

The data for other trading accounts should be available, although the values may not be correct (more on this in a bit). The only reason the information would not be there is if the data got deleted. Otherwise, make sure that you have the filters at the top set such that they would cover the time period and symbols (and other items) that would be used with the Teton account. Refer to the following: Trade Activity Log: Viewing Historical Trade Activity In terms of the data not being correct in the Trade Activity Log when you are viewing the data for one service while connected to another, refer to the following: Trade Activity Log: Solving Trade Activity Incorrect Price Formatting and P/L Values For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Thanks - Yes I'm trying to understand how the data got deleted as I did not clear the Log data but did change the service between Teton and Rithmic and then back to teton. I did translated the symbol to the current service as well. Is there any way to find out how the data got deleted ? |

There is not a way to find out how it got deleted. But, check the actual files in your filesystem. They will be located in a file named "TradeActivityLogs" that is directly under your main Sierra Chart installation folder. For a typical installation this would be C:\SierraChart\TradeActivityLogs, but the location of C:\SierraChart may be different in your case. In that folder will be a number of files with the Date of the data and then the trading account, so it will look like "TradeActivityLog_YYYY-MM-DD_UTC.TradeAccount.data". Look and see if there are files with the trade account name you have with Teton. This would imply that the data is there. Ok - I think I know what happened. I changed the path of the activity log in the general settings thinking it was the trade activity log of fills & trades data. When doing that, the data gets deleted. I reverted it back to its original folder and noticed the data got deleted again for today's trades. Another question - Is it possible to get the trade activity log of fills and trades automatically downloaded ? I usually do this weekly by manually saving the log but would prefer if it could just get downloaded automatically say periodically i.e. daily/weekly to a folder. |

The only way to have the Trade Activity data exported automatically would be to create a custom study that does this. There are no built-in tools to do this on an regular basis.

The data is not going to be deleted doing this: I think I know what happened. I changed the path of the activity log in the general settings thinking it was the trade activity log of fills & trades data. When doing that, the data gets deleted. I reverted it back to its original folder and noticed the data got deleted again for today's trades. However, you must move the files to the new folder path and you must restart Sierra Chart. Otherwise, you will not have access to the existing trade activity data. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. One thing that will delete trade activity data is this particular setting if you are using it: Global Trade Settings Windows: Automatically Delete Trade Activity Log Files on Startup Older than Days (Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> General >> Trade Activity) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
