Apex Rithmic/Denali Auto Backfill Data into Sub Instance

Rithmic/Denali Apex setup with subinstances. Same setup used for IB/Denali live without issues.

In Rithmic setup, main instance loads backfill data fine. In subinstance, data that occurred while not connected does not back fill in. Have to manually delete and download on each chart the missing data. Allow Support for SC Data Feeds is enabled.

Also, any way to verify the sub instance is connecting to/getting Denali data?

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:
Message Log: Clearing the Message Log

Fully re-download the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >>Delete All Data and Download".

Or, in the case of a Continuous Futures Contract chart, follow these instructions:
Continuous Futures Contract Charts: Re-Downloading Continuous Futures Contract Data

After about a minute provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:
Support Board Posting Information: How to Post Your Message Log (Required In Some Cases)

We will then determine what the problem is.

From the Message Log you sent we see the following:
HD Request # 2 | Received 14574 Intraday data records from 2023-05-09 22:24:08.570000 to 2023-05-24 22:23:12.042000 (15.0 days. Delay: 9.6 seconds) and wrote 14574 records for CLN3.NYMEX | 2023-05-24 22:23:21.642

This shows that the backfill data is being downloaded.

If you are still missing some data, then follow the instructions at the following link to redownload the data:

That manual download works to fill in the gap of missing data, however this issue continues to re-occur every time we open up Sierracharts from an offline state, on every chart and symbol and sub instance.

We disconnected and waited to re-create the situation because it only affects backfill after being offline.

Last log ran for about 5 minutes, how long of a log do you need?

Issue occurs on all charts, on all symbols, in all sub instances. Only opened one chart/symbol to keep it simple.

Attached image of chart to illustrate missing data gap on initial reconnection, and image again after leaving open and connected.

Backfill data never filled in. Let log run for over 2 hours.

This issue is not occurring on the IB/Denali install, which was copied over to create this Rithmic/Denali install recently, both SC v2504. IB/Denali subinstance on left, Rithmic/Denali subinstance on right.

Yes, in attempting to fix this and the port conflict problem, we've now introduced the backfill issue into the live trading IB install also.

Available now if you can please call soon.

Thank you for the call, changed the setting for 'Use These Symbol Settings In New Instances' in all instances, issue is still occurring in subinstances, now also on the IB install.

Note, Download data for all associated watchlist symbols does not fix it, only Delete and Download manually on each symbol, in each subinstance.

Also on some symbols it does not seem to occur, yet on others it does, ie 6E was OK, but 6B was missing data.

Changes made to IB install were in troubleshooting this problem and the port conflict. And also renamed the folders SC is installed to, could that be a cause?

You are now experiencing a different problem:

Error getting address info for ds26.sierracharts.com. Windows error code 11002: This is usually a temporary error during hostname resolution and means that the local server did not receive a response from an authoritative server. | 2023-05-30 23:48:46.896

Refer to:
Data/Trading Service Connection and Symbol Issues: 1.2. Network Communication or Server Problem

We are also going to look into the Intraday File Update List usage in a sub instance. We will resolve any problem if one is found.

DNS flush/restart seemed to fix that.

We removed all intraday file update lists and the backfill issue appears gone. Please let us know when you're able to fix using them in a subinstance.

Can we restore the 'use these symbol settings in new instances', and custom symbol settings?

Thanks for the great and efficient support through these multiple problems.

We did not identify any problem with Intraday File Update List in a sub instance:
Please let us know when you're able to fix using them in a subinstance.
That will work properly in a sub instance.

Yes:

Can we restore the 'use these symbol settings in new instances', and custom symbol settings?
