Hi, can this be solved soon? It's such a strange, counter-intuitive problem that just makes the whole platform seem buggy and illogical.

All the wicks on one side of the chart just disappear when you invert any historical chart lol, how has no one else seen this?

Are you able to mathematically prove there is a problem? There should not be.

1) There should not be, of course, hence it is a bug.

2) I could deliver you a few candles' OHLC data from both charts, which is the same as just looking at the issue in the screenshot provided.

3) By your own admission in previous threads it was declared that using anything other than tick-data can cause this error. So you already admitted it's an error.

4) Point 3) granted, how can this be the case with historical charts? By its own nature there is no way to download from tick.

1. How do you know there is a bug? There simply could not be. If there is something wrong, then based upon the description here, explain what is wrong:
Chart Settings: Invert Prices (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol Settings menu)

You will simply not find a problem. How this functionality works is very straightforward and simple.

Try using this study instead:
Multiply Bars By -1

Instead of the option to invert the bars.

3. No that is not true.

To address 1) and 2), from 2021:

Invert chart function, wicks on the lower side

Here John states "There were some changes awhile ago to help with the issue you are seeing,"

Now, as you can check in 30 seconds, as soon as you change from 1-tick to any other data storage type, there is a difference in one side of the wicks. As addressed in the screenshot in the original post.

The mere fact there is a difference is enough to prove the mathematical inconsistency. The mere visual in the screenshot, and the admission from your staff, once again, is concrete information. It doesn't even need to be evidence. This is the most clean, objective information one needs.

Bug/Issue found with Chart Drawing Copying and Inverted Charts

In this thread from 2020, you stated "Update Sierra Chart to the latest release, 2068. We have implemented a solution."

Unfortunately this did not work.

***

Regarding 'Multiple Bars By -1' .. I would LOVE to use this. This, for inverting charts, is far superior. Could you simply fix the 'Chart Copy Drawings' to work on these type of inverted charts? So we don't need to get bogged down with the above issue again?

I brought this up in 2019, post 7, to which you said you needed time to think about this. 11 days later you overtly dismissed it.

So, if you can just accept the logical consistency that chart object behaviour should be normal and reflective of a simple divisor when applying the 'Multiple Bars' study, all of these issues can be fixed permenantly.

Which style of 'Inverted' chart to use to copy drawings accross chartbooks?

Regarding post #5. Precisely tell us what the problem is without referencing all of those threads or coming to conclusions, without stating the facts.

We are not going to reference those threads. They are older, they take a lot of time to review and understand.

What is the problem? Precisely tell us what the problem is. Just one single issue. If you cannot do that there is no issue.

Yes we can look at this:

We would have to add a new setting to control how the charts are inverted.

CHFJPY 15 March 2023 Historical D1 candle.

In the screenshot, the candle has been annotated the given 7 times it can be.

Left is the original candle, price values from top to bottom:

H 147.58464495
O 146.91218367
C 142.95213386
L 142.65326217

Corresponding 1.0/prices and display are on the right.

H --> L: 1/147.58464495 = 0.0067757726

^ The above line is completely missing. whereas the below 3 lines are not.

O --> : 1/146.91218367 = 0.0680678741
C --> : 1/142.95213389 = 0.0069953485
L --> H: 1/142.65326217 = 0.00701000443

This inverted high (new low) not printing, is akin to the wick is not printing, hence the obvious bug in my original screenshot.

***********

Alternatively, (or additionally depending on your lust for thoroughness), just update normal chart functions to apply when using the Multiple Bars study.. all it needs to do is recognise a chart with a '-' at the start of the price.

It's post #7 I'm most concerned about: 'Invert Chart' function for Historical Charts - Bug | Post: 342462

Version 2506 and editing copied objects copied accross inverted charts is beyon a joke. Just disappearing into thin air. How much would it cost me to donate if you could prioritise this?
