URGENT : Pulling/Stacking and DOM data ceased after SMS/email alerts issue

Sierra Charts Support, I just lost the data feed for all pulling/stacking data, as well as DOM data after a restart that followed my testing of an alert that inadvertently exceeded email message limits, and also sent me ~100 SMS messages (which I funded). I'm still sorting through how that happened, but I am alarmed to see that after restarting SC and the Windows server I run it on that I no longer receive any pulling/stacking or DOM data. Did I cause this with the messaging issue above? If so, I understand why that needs to be better managed, and how can this pulling/stacking/DOM data issue be remedied? Please advise ASAP. Thank you. |

There is no connection between the Alerts/Email/SMS and the data. Everything looks fine for your data setup. What is one symbol for which you are having this issue? And then get us your Message Log by following these instructions: Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log: Message Log: Clearing the Message Log Open a chart for the symbol you have an issue with. Tell us that symbol of the chart. Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect". Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed". After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions: Support Board Posting Information: How to Post Your Message Log (Required In Some Cases) We will then determine what the problem is. It looks like you are getting the depth data based on what we see in your log. I followed these steps: For ESH23-CME and NQH23-CME I see 100 levels each. My default is set to 0 (all levels) everywhere in SC, though I use different amounts of what is available for different studies. To clarify on DOM: I see some studies fed by DOM data, but it is the DOM columns on the chart I cannot access any more. Further, in no chart or study do I have pulling/stacking data. I have custom studies which use this pulling/stacking data and they are all now receiving no data. This is my biggest concern. |

Adding to the explanation: when I go to Trade>Customize Chart/Trade DOM Columns I can no longer pull up DOM or pulling/stacking columns. They simply don't appear when added.

If you are adding the columns and they are not showing, then that means that you are not setup to have them show, which would be the heart of the issue. If this is on a Chart (so we are dealing with the Chart DOM), then make sure you have either Trade >> Trading Chart DOM On or Show Market Data Columns enabled. Trading Chart DOM On will also enable the option for Chart Trading Mode On, so if you are not actually wanting to trade from that chart, then use the Show Market Data Columns option. After one of those is enabled, then you should be able to add your columns, or they may already be present when you enable the option. That worked, and pulling/stacking data is now feeding in again. <face palm> <repeat> Everything worked correctly this morning prior to the alert messaging issue, so I must have really done a number on things. Thank you, John and SC. |
