What option am I supposed to have checked in the settings to do this? I have "Constant range scale recenter on interactive scaling change" checked and also "re-center on chart scroll" but it seems random whether or not it'll keep the current price on the screen when i click and drag the DOM to change the scaling. sometimes it keeps the price on the screen and you can see the prices on the DOM collapse towards the center, but then sometimes I click and drag to scale the chart and all the candles start going off the screen.

There is not a specific option to keep the most recent price centered in the DOM, if this is what you are wanting.

The closest you can come to the above is to use the "User Defined" option which will cause the scales to not change at all from where they are set. The easiest way to do this is to right-click on the scales and select "Scale Range: User Defined with Auto Set".

If you want to keep the last price (closing price) of the last bar displayed in the chart (the bar furthest to the right) then you would wan to use "Constant Range" with "Re-Center to the Last Price on Every Update".

This has to be bugged or something. sometimes when adjusting the scale of my chart it switches behavior and doesn't keep my candle centered on the chart. then I go into the scale settings and uncheck "constant range scale recenter on interactive scaling change", which actually makes it keep the last bar centered on rescaling again. Then after a while it stops recentering the last bar again and the way I fix it is by going back into scale settings and checking that box again.

There could not be any problem with this functionality. Make sure you fully understand the different Constant Range Scale options:

And also, if you have moved the scale up or down, then you have shifted what is considered the center point.
