I am referring to Volume by Price study using a Trade DOM with these questions. 1) What is the best way to set up a weekly profile using the volume by price study. what i would like to do is create a profile that strats with the sunday night globex session and ends on friday. i would like to do this every week. 2) I also wanted to know if i could have profiles that are side by side on the left hand side using the Trade DOM. I know that I am able to place them side by side on the right hand side. Thank you |

1) In order to show the past week on the Trading DOM - set the following: - Volume Graph Period Type: One Period at End of Fixed Time Length - Time Period Type for 'Fixed Time': Weeks - Time Period Length for 'Fixed Time': 1 2) You can only have the multiple profiles when they are on the right-hand side. I was able to create the profile as you instructed If I want to add name labels to the label column such as weekly high/low and weekly halfback how do you suggest i try to do that ? I cant do that using Daily OHLC. I just wanted to see if you had any thoughts or suggestions> Study/Price Overlay or Horizontal Lines ? Thank you for your help |

Thank you very much. I was able to use this study to carry out what i wanted A bit of an unrelated question. I am displaying a weekly, overnight/session and daily volume profile on a Trade DOM. I would like my daily volume profile to start at the cash open. Right now what I am using is Trading Day Start Time to End-Reset at Day Session. Is there a better selection on the Volume Graph Period Type - so the profile is only displayed starting at the start of the cash session and not before then. Thank you |

Is there a better selection on the Volume Graph Period Type - so the profile is only displayed starting at the start of the cash session and not before then. This should work fine, but just make sure that you see a reset at the start of the day session to ensure it is doing what you want. You would have to use the Draw Period Type of From Start Date-Time to End. And then you would have to update the date each day to not show the previous day's data until the open of the new day session.

Getting back to the beginning of this thread regarding volume by price on a Trade DOM If I am using: Volume Graph Period Type: One Period at End of Fixed Time Length - Time Period Type for 'Fixed Time': Weeks - Time Period Length for 'Fixed Time': 1 How far back does this go back ? 5 days ? 7days ? Does it reset at any point ? For example at the start of a new week ? Are there any ways to manipulate this - meaning control days back ? reset ? Thank you |

A week is 7 days starting from the Sunday Evening session (if there is one), unless you have specified to use Monday as the start of the week in the Global Settings. Obviously, if there is no trading on certain days, then that information is not included (such as Friday Evening, Saturday and Sunday day for CME Group futures). The reset will occur each Sunday night when the new week starts. There are no ways to manipulate this when selecting the option as you have. You would have to use one of the other options to manipulate the information (such as Days to load and use 5). I have my volume profile on Trade DOM set to Time Period for 'Fixed Time' set to Weeks and Time Period Length for 'Fixed Time' set to 1. I have Number of Days to Calculate Volume Profiles set to 0 In chart settings i have New Bar At Start set to Yes I am seeing a profile that goes back 5 days/sessions starting Monday night of Globex session from Monday 12/12. From the documentation it would seem as though a new period should start on Sunday night of Globex Could you explain what I am seeing and how best to manipulate to be able to change to the desired conditions ? I may want it to go 5 days or 7 days back. Its just thats not what it says in the documentation. It says that it will restart at the start of new period. Just want to know what i should expect/what i should be seeing Thank you |

Do you have the option for Global Settings >> General Settings >> General >> Use Monday as Start of Week Instead of Sunday set to Yes? If so, then that would explain why it is not resetting until the Monday night session. So I have it set to NO on all of my instances I am seeing a Volume Profile going back at least until 12/12 - I am looking at the high for that day on candlestick chart and it correlates with the price of the high of my volume profile. Is it supposed to go back 5 days or 7 days ? It does not seem to reset on Sunday or Monday at his point ? Will send screen shot Again just trying to make sense of what I am seeing Thank you |

Our apologies, the setting is not doing exactly what we thought it was supposed to be doing. When using the option of One Period at End of Fixed Time and you have the time period set to Weeks, it is a rolling 7 days of data. It is not a calendar week. Therefore, the only way to get a calendar week is to use the option of From Start Date-Time to End and set your Start Date and Start Time to the date and time from which you want to start your week (typically the Sunday evening open).
