Change in markets available after update & renewal using Denali & CQG

I recently renewed my service package 11. I have been using a separate installation of Sierra Chart to connect to my broker's CQG feed for scanning & monitoring some other markets. The exchanges enabled w/ this account are the bundled top of book (CME, NYMEX, COMEX, CBOT). In my Denali data, all I've had enabled was CME top of book. I was able to see market data from the bundled exchanges in this 2nd installation of Sierra Chart, everything worked.

However, recently I renewed my service package 11 & updated Sierra Chart to the current release. At that time, I decided not select an exchange, as I have not been using the Denali feed, as I've been using Rithmic for a specific purpose. But today, I found that my CQG connected installation was not updating- it was 'frozen'. After considerable troubleshooting & phone calls to the broker, reviewing the documentation, I went ahead & re-activated the CME Top of Book for the Denali, & immediately CME charts came to life. Well that was apparently the problem; however, the NYMEX, COMEX, etc., did not.

Okay, so something has changed, as this was the setup that was working for all 4 exchanges prior to today- but now it's not letting me get data from the other 3 exchanges through CQG.

So it would seem I need to activate the bundled exchanges for the Denali feed to see these other markets; however, I've also already paid for the exchanges through my broker- but I can't use the CQG with Sierra Chart w/o the Denali, which seems to indicate I need to activate the bundle w/ Denali as well. Is there some solution to not paying for the bundle 2x for essentially the same use of the platform? Do I really have to have the bundle now, whereas it worked fine before w/ just the CME activated?

Please advise!

Thank you!

With release 2394 we no longer allow data into Sierra Chart from CQG for the CME Group and EUREX. Therefore, you would need to use our Denali Exchange Data Feed and let your broker know that you do not want the data from CQG.

Thanks John- I had seen a similar statement in reviewing the documentation. I have edited my ticket since posting, I did not expect such an instant reply! Please review it again, as I don't feel I've got a grip on it- from what you're saying, there's no point in logging into CQG from Sierra Chart if I have Denali, correct? My broker isn't allowing order routing yet throught Teton, by the way.

You are still going to use CQG for your Order Routing. But your data will come from our Denali Exchange Data Feed. So you have not already done so, you will need to follow the instructions to connect to CQG here:
CQG Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions

Once that is done, then you will need to update your Denali exchange options, since you just have the 1 exchange active right now (CME Top of Book). If you need all of the CME Group without Market Depth, then you will want to Deactivate the CME Top-of-Book and then activate the Full CME Group (CME, CBOT, COMEX, NYMEX) for nonprofessional Trading accounts which costs $3.50 per month.

Then just check to ensure that the option for Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Common Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds is set to Yes and you will be getting the Denali data into your Sierra Chart and be setup to trade with CQG.

Just to make sure you have your symbols correct after connecting to CQG, you will also want to open your Chartbooks and select Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service.

The only thing left to do after this is to tell your broker you no longer want the CQG data.

Okay... I might still keep the CQG anyway, as I have another platforms I can power w/ data as well. Sounds like I can just use the Denali alone w/ Sierra Chart to the same effect. I don't think I can route orders yet w/ my broker, however.

Last question: I'm still stuck w/ the CME TOB until the end of the month, I suspect: In other words, there's no credit given towards the bundle, correct?

Just keep in mind that in order to get the CME Group data at the non-professional rates, you need to have a live, funded, futures trading account to which you can connect your Sierra Chart. You are somehow doing this, as your "verified until" date is September 7, 2022. But we just want to make sure that you are aware of this. Refer to the following for more information:

You can view your "verified until" date at the following link:

Correct, there are no refunds for the exchange fees, as these go directly to the exchange, and they do not give us any refunds.
