We first need to understand what is happening. Are you unable to open a Chartbook, or are there no charts in the chartbook, or are you not getting data?

What was the version you were running previously? If this was a large jump in releases, then it is possible that your chartbook is not compatible with the current version. Refer to the information here:
Chartbooks (Workspaces): Opening Older Chartbooks

Depending on what is occurring, you can also access backup chartbooks. Refer to the information here:

Hello,

The data and chart books are working fine. The issue is that I did a routine windows update and now all the edits I made to the chart book are gone. It’s as if I just opened the account

I tried the the backup option you provided and no "data" is in the back up folder

There must be backup files in the backups folder. Refer to the documentation here:
Chartbooks (Workspaces): Accessing a Backup Chartbook File

In your case the folder is:
C:\SierraChart\Backups

Is that folder completely empty?

Backups are automatically created so we do not know what happened to the file.

Check that folder again. The Chartbook filename will begin with a number.

There is nothing you need to do normally.

Backups are maintained automatically. If backup files are getting deleted for some unknown reason we would have no idea why.

You should make additional backups by periodically backing up the entire Sierra Chart folder.

Just copy the entire folder to a save location on a separate disk (or removeable drive). Just make sure Sierra Chart is not running at the time. It is your choice on where to store the backup copy(ies).
