Hello, I figured out how to add a reset button to reset the "Volume By Price study" on my DOM so as to reset the DOM's Volume profile at any moment. Rather than seeing the entire sessions volume profile. 1. What I'm trying to do is add a reset button for individual "Detached" DOM's that I have set up on dedicated screen. I've detached Trade DOM charts and placed them on a dedicated screen because I'm not able to create a set of DOMs in a Chartbook and place that Chartbook on a dedicated screen. If there is a way to do that then please let me know. The Reset button that I added is located in the "Control Bar 1" and only controls the DOM that is selected within the Chartbook. 2. My Goal is to select a specific trade DOM and Reset the Volume by price study for that particular DOM. Is there a way to have a number of trade DOMs, of different symbols, Dedicated to a screen, that is capable of each individual DOM volume profile being reset? 3. Lastly, Is there a way to reverse the reset and repopulate the sessions Volume profile? Toggling between resetting and full session Volume profile? I've added a couple of screenshots illustrating what I'm trying to do. I hope this is clear. Thank you, Thaddeus |

1. If you want to have the DOMs contained within the main Sierra Chart screen and then have that displayed in a certain monitor, then you would need to use a Sub-Instance that holds that Chartbook. Refer to the following: File Menu: New Instance (File) 2. There is not a way to setup a single reset button that will work with the active chart. What you can do is to have separate Control Bar Buttons that control each individual DOM, so you would select a specific button to reset a specific DOM. You do this by selecting a different ACS Control Bar button number in the Volume by Price Reset Button Inputs. Refer to the following: Volume By Price Reset Button 3. The only way to reset back to the original Volume by Price settings is to change the Volume by Price study itself and set the Inputs back to their original values. Or, if you have the study setup by default the way you want, then you could delete it and re-add it. This is very helpful. Before I add a new instance, I'd like to know: 1.If there is any benefit in creating a new instance in a dedicated screen displaying only trade DOMS, over, duplicating trade DOMS and adding them to a dedicated screen (this is the method I currently have). "One reason to use additional instance of Sierra Chart is to distribute processing load among instances which run as independent processes which can utilize additional CPU cores for study calculations for example." 2. Is a new instance more beneficial If I have Chartbooks containing many studies? 3. Do trade DOMS use enough processing load to warrant another instance? Regarding Reset button for a specific detached chart, I have the reset button on the control panel 1 marked ZB reset. Yet I cannot reset the ZB chart. How Do I link the button with the DOM? Added screenshots to show inputs. |

1. There can be some benefit from having the Trade DOM in a separate instance in order to help with processing load. Otherwise, in terms of how you interact with the windows, it is a personal choice. It just sounded like you were wanting to have the DOM's within the window from your initial post. 2. Yes, a New Instance will be mostly beneficial when you are using many studies and/or many charts. But it is something that you will have to figure out as to what works best for your setup. Refer to the following as well on this topic: Overview of Trading: Sierra Chart Configuration for Most Low Response Time Trading 3. In and of themselves, not so much, but look at the link we posted in #2 above. 4. Is the Control Bar Button setup as "ACS Control Bar Button #2"? You have it specified as #2 in your Inputs, so you need to make sure that is what you have setup in the Control Bar Button. Keep in mind, you need to be setting up the Control Bar button using the items under the section for Custom Study Control Bar Button Keyboard Shortcuts. The ACS is #2, As shown in the srceenshot, but it is not resetting. No problem resetting the DOM that is in the chartbook. But when I detach the DOM and move to another screen, doesn't seem to be working. |

What you are seeing is the correct functioning. Since the window is detached, it does not have an association with that Control Bar any longer. You would need to add the Control Bar directly to the Trading DOM by selecting Window >> Control Bar >> Control Bar n on the Trading DOM itself and then attach it to that window as you want.

Hello, Can the reset button be applied to a delta volume profile that's on the chart? Instead of having to even have a DOM open. See the attached photo. |

You assign the "Volume by Price Reset Button" to a specific Volume Profile. How that profile is setup is up to you.
