My spouse works for eTrade/Morgan Stanley. They refuse to permit me to open an account at an outside firm, regardless of her not having access to inside info or the fact that she only deals in equities and I only want to trade futures. Their trading platform is absolutely horrid. I downloaded SC today and already want to sign up for the serv. pack 12. Is there any other way to get non-professional fees other than opening an account? The documentation says it isn't easy but doesn't say it can't be done. I am certainly not a pro and she isn't on my etrade account. My preference would be to trade on the SC platform but it is a huge consolation to just be able to use it for my charting. She'll be retiring in a year but we don't want to jeopardize her position with the firm. Thank you |

As far as the CME Group is concerned, there is no other choice. You have to have an account with a broker to which you can connect your Sierra Chart in order to get the non-professional exchange fees through our Denali Exchange Data Feed. The only other option we see would be to trade a different exchange, such as EUREX, as only the CME Group has the requirement. So the EUREX and CFE data are available through our Denali Exchange Data Feed. Just so you are aware, there is the CME E-mini, For professionals and users without a trading account exchange option which only costs $66.00 per month. This option has the following symbols available, so if you only need these, then this would be the cheapest "Professional" option: cme => 'ES', 'EMD', 'NQ', 'RTY', 'J7', 'E7', 'M6A', 'M6B', 'M6C', 'M6E', 'M6J', 'M6S', 'ENY', 'RS1', 'FTU', 'FT1', 'MES', 'MNQ', 'M2K', cbot => 'YM', 'XN', 'XK', 'XW', 'MY', nymex => 'GP', 'QG', 'QH', 'QM', 'QU', comex => 'GR', 'QC', 'QI', 'QO', For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Thank you! That'll work as long as the "professional" status on that service doesn't effect my status at etrade. |

From our perspective, it is not making you a "Professional" at all. Note that part of the title of the exchange is "...and users without a trading account". It is the CME Group that is using the terminology. But, you should be sure you check your sources to ensure you are not doing anything wrong as far as they are concerned.
