I am setup a 2000 tick chart. I followed your instructions and selected "number of bars per trade" and in setting I entered 2000. So the chart loads but it does not look like a correct 2000 ticks chart. I am comparing it to two other charting platforms that I have setup with 2000 tick charts. The bars are not formed correctly like the others.

thanks

Here are the chart settings for the sierra 2000 tick chart.

Also, I have verified the non sierra chart is a correct 2000 tick chart using another third chart platform I have.

That is weird, I have Denali + IB, my 2000-tick bars on Sierra Chart looks almost identical with your "other_chart.png", very different than your "sierra.png" (see attached image).

So, the difference is not caused by Sierra, but the data feed, hope Sierra team would know what went wrong.

By the way, I would set evening session from 18:00 (assuming your time zone is Eastern), that is when new day start. But that has nothing to do with the difference we are discussing.

Does anyone know how to get the attention of sierra charts technical support on an issue like this?

I'm at a dead end on how to resolve this issue and I am paying paying for a subscription.

Thanks

Hi User260434, no, our data feeds are not the same, you have CQG, I have Denali + IB, even though we are all using Sierra Chart.

No, I was referring to my sierra chart and non sierra chart are the same data feed(cqg) yet both 2000 ticks charts are different. I realize you have Denali.

Anyway, I switched to the Denali feed and now all is good. Shouldn't have to switch, but sierra tech is no help. Not a word.
Interesting bunch, sierra is.

@User260434,

I glad you figured it out. Sierra Chart has a lot of documentation and often questions people have are already answered within it. For instance, the CQG Trading Platform Service docs note that SC does not support historical intraday data if you're using CQG alone: CQG Trading Platform Service: What is Included

Good luck with your trading.

You are referring to historical data. I was using Realtime data with cqg. As far as I could tell CQG data feed should have given a correct ticks chart.

thanks

This is because of the additional information that was requested by a user, and also that we in some cases would have requested was then posted by you on a Sunday! A Sunday!

Interesting bunch, sierra is.

So it would not have been until Monday that we would have gotten to this.

Anyway the answer to your question is here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/Whats_New.php#SCVer2351

And also, when there is user to user communication, that creates more of a burden on us, and actually may slow down our response because we will then set this aside when we have time to sort through all of this.

Right, but then there was a request for additional information, and we likely would have requested that as well and it did not come in until Sunday:

So we just waited for the additional information. And there is also a system notification message, that you see when starting Sierra Chart that describes the change related to CQG historical tick data which directly links to the version notes for 2351. So users have been notified about this. It is shown on startup.

This actually was not the case due to a comparison which was case-sensitive.

This is now resolved.
