IB Advisor account allocation problem

Hello,

I have been trading through an advisor account in IB which controls two accounts.
Everything has been fine while trading futures but I have been unable to place an EUR/USD order because the software sends the order as if it belonged to the advisor account itself (which had $800 in it) and not to the subaccounts according to the allocation profile. Order is therefore rejected because margin is insufficient.

IB says this is not an IB issue because IB only receives the order as is and it is therefore a SC issue. For some reason SC sends the order as belonging to the advisor account.

I don't know and don't want to speculate why settings that should be global are applied differently in different charts within the same chartbook and this is why I'm asking for your help.

Not sure what help we can provide with this. The only thing we can suggest is to make sure the Trade Account is set correctly on the Trade Window:

The Financial Advisor settings you have set in Sierra Chart, are sent with every order and are not affected by what chart the order is submitted from.

I resolved the issue by going into
File?
>Data/Trade Service Settings
>IB Trading
>More Interactive Brokers Settings
>Enable Financial Advisor Settings For Trading.

The fact that trading allocations funcitoned well in other charts would have indicated that these settings were enabled, however they were not. All charts work now.

I'm sending this follow-up to help other people who may have the same issue.

It is good to know it is working for you now.

If Enable Financial Advisor Settings For Trading, was disabled, then no order submitted from Sierra Chart would have the financial advisor account settings set on it.
