I wanted to know how i can place a Buy or sell market order using the mouse on the Trade DOM. There is no selection for that, that i can see on the global settings menu

i can select market if touched or market if touched - client. can you just briefly explain (-client). i read it but dont understand it. it has something to do with sierra ? how do these two order types play out with the Teton Order routing ? Which do you suggest.

my main question is how i can place a straight market order using the mouse

Thank you

There is no support for this. You need to use the Buy/Sell Market buttons on the Trade Window:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Entering an Order from the Trade Window

We do not recommend using any client-side orders. Please avoid them. We do not need to have any issues you will subsequently report, related to client-side orders. They are all documented here:
Order Types

You can right-click on the chart, and submit the order that way through the chart trade menu:

Thank you that is very helpful because i was using market if touched - client side because i really did not understand the difference

Do you think there is a way to request that Buy and sell market orders be able to be placed using the mouse as some of the other order types are ? Is there a reason why they are not ?

Thank you

You can setup your mouse to have "Buy Market" and "Sell Market" on the right-mouse menu. It is just not supported as one of the options in the DOM. Refer to the following:
Global Settings Menu: Customize Chart Trade Menu (Global Settings menu)

Thank you
I am aware of this
Find that short cut trade menu useful but hard to use in fast markets
Thanks again

So i switched to Market order if touched and it seemed to work on a couple of trades (SIM and Live) and then it stopped working and gave me an error message stating that he order was not supported. I will attach a screen shot of the service log

The other problem i ran into was that to circumvent the issue of the market orders i assigned hotkeys to a numeric pad which works without problem. I was again able to place several (SIM and Live trades without any problems then suddenly i started getting error messages the first was that the trading shortcuts needed to be enabled (which it was). So i unchecked and then rechecked on the Trade DOM. Then i got a different error message stating that the Chart trade DOM needs to be on. I looked for the chart they referred to in the service log and could not find it (also will attach service log)

At this point it seems like my only choice would be to go back to Market order if touched client if i want to use the mouse since the two other market order types are not supported.

Thank you

With regards to the "Market if Touched". For the Teton Order Routing service it is noted that this is not supported in this section:
Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing: What is Included

Still, you could use the "Market if Touched - Client" instead, which keeps the order on your local system until touched and then puts in the Market order to the exchange. You just have to ensure that your system is on, running, and connected properly to ensure that the order gets placed. Refer to the information here:
Order Types: Market if Touched - Client

With regards to the Keyboard Shortcuts, it is referring to Chart #14 which has the symbol "ESH22_FUT_CME". If you do not see it in your tabs, then go to the "CW" menu and find it in that list. Even if it is hidden, it will be there and you can select it to "unhide" it.

Using the Trade Window, when I attempt a market order I get this error message every time:

trade order error - "invalid prices relative to current price"

Rithmic data issue? I have tried but failed to find a solution.

Please tell us exactly what button(s) you are pressing in order to get the market order placed. And then copy the entire line from your Trade Service Log that shows that error.

When you select the "Buy" and "Sell" buttons at the bottom of the window, they are going to put in a Buy/Sell order using the Order Type that you have set just above. In your case, this is set to "OCO Buy Stop Sell Stop" and you have your prices set to "0". This is why you are getting that error, you are trying to submit an OCO Buy Stop Sell Stop with a price of 0.

If you wan those to be Market orders then you would need to set your Order Type to "Market".
