Hello,

Sorry if the question is kinda wrong but i am relatively fresh to Sierra.
I have bought recently CFE data access. What is my intention is to get fresh and historical access to VIX index and I understood that CFE has it.

However I cannot download any of VIX data to my charts, I get error either the symbol is not found or I do not have access. It's weird cause sometimes I get this chart loaded and live... butI cannot go into history further than 3.01.2022
Also, data for 05.01.2022 have not been loaded. I am using VIX-IND-CBOE ticker and tried $VIX (says: symnbol not found)

The other topic is that I'd like to write to you personal appretiation for your work. The whole Documentation / API description and provided examples should be a guide for many other shitty things in the world :) Even the language you use in threads and descriptions is super consistent. You need to visibly spend time investing in this. Thank you!

It sounds like you are wanting the VIX Index, which is different from the VIX Futures. The CFE (CBOE Futures Exchange) has the VIX Futures.

In order to get the VIX Index ($VIX) you would need to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed and enable the CBOE Indices exchange. You will find the information for the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed - including Setup Instructions - at the following link:

If you are interested in the VIX Futures, then the symbol you need to use with Interactive Brokers is VIX-########-CFE-USD-1000 where the #'s are replaced with the year, month, and day of the contract.

And finally - thank you for your kind words.

You probably will have trouble accessing the Sierra Chart CFE data using the Interactive Brokers symbol. Use this symbol instead:
VXF22_FUT_CFE
