I have an account with AMP and i'm trying to use SC for both charting and trading. When i log in using CQG credentials, my sub-instance of SC, which i use to follow NQ and RTY, stops updating despite being connected on top left corner. If i have Pack 10 w/ Denali, shouldn't i be able to follow all the markets included? Thanks. |

Yes, you should be getting the data into a sub-instance without any issues. Are you able to get the data correctly in the main instance? Also, when you say you are using a Sub-Instance, are you starting that Sub-Instance by selecting File >> New Instance, or is this a completely separate installation of Sierra Chart? Also, get us the Message Log from the Sub-Instance by following these instructions: Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log: Message Log: Clearing the Message Log Open a chart for the symbol you have an issue with. Tell us that symbol of the chart. Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect". Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed". After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#MessageLog We will then determine what the problem is. Good morning. My 2nd instance is a sub-instance of SC, which starts automatically with the first one. The chart I opened is NQZ21. I posted below the message log. I think I know what's happening: in the main instance, as I switch from SC data to CQG data, it asks me if I want to change the symbol from ESZ21 to F.US.ESZ21, which is the equivalent for CQG. That doesn't happen on the sub-instance, i wonder why. I manually switched the symbols for the CQG equivalent - does SC have an option to do this for all charts at once? Yes, your analysis is correct. When you are switching services and you close the Data/Trade Service Settings window, it gives you the option to update the symbols, which it sounds like you are doing. But you are correct, this does not flow to the Sub-Instance, as these are completely separate. Therefore, you would need to change the symbols in the sub-instance "manually" after you make the change in the main instance. To do this in the sub-instance, open your chartbooks and select Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service. That will update the symbols in all of the charts at once.
