On a Numbers/FP chart, I have calculated values displayed at the bottom with the AskVolume BidVolume Difference Percentage displayed. I'm trying to create a bar indicator above that graphically displays those percentage values in bars with Auto Zero-based formatting. All bars are colored according to positive (green) and negative (red) values but go up from the base line. I'm blanking on what to use to do this... Thanks for the help. |

If we are understanding what you are wanting to do, then you would just use the Study Subgraph Reference study to display the value you want from the Numbers Bars Calculated Values study. Then set the Draw Type to Bar and the Scale to Automatic Zero Based (just be sure that the values you are displaying are all positive values for that scale option to work properly). Refer to the following for Study Subgraph Reference: Study Subgraph Reference Refer to the following for the Draw Type: Chart Studies: Subgraphs Tab >> Draw Style And refer to the following for the Scale setting of Automatic Zero-Based: Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Automatic Zero-Based (Scale Range) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

I think that's where I'm stuck. I have positive AND negative Delta percentage values. How do I chart them so they the bars are all going UP but colored green and red with + and - values...

You can't. Think about what you are asking for, you want to display both Positive and Negative values as Positive values. But, to do what you want, you would need to do two things, 1) flip the negative values to positive, and 2) color the bars based on the original values. To do this, do the following: 1. Use the Spreadsheet Formula to convert the data. Use a formula that looks like the following: = IF(ID1.SG1 < 0, ID1.SG1 * -1, ID1.SG1) where ID1.SG1 is the Study ID and Subgraph number for the data you want. Then use you Study Subgraph Reference on the Spreadsheet Formula study. 2. To get the coloring, you would need to use the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition study. If you do not have the coloring for either up or down bars, then you would need two copies of the study, otherwise, if you already have the positive values being colored the way you want, then just one copy of the study is needed. For the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition, you would use the following condition: = ID1.SG1 < 0 Again, the same ID and SG as above are used to know if it was originally negative. Refer to the following for the Spreadsheet Formula Study: Spreadsheet Formula Then it is just a matter of setting up the rest of the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition study to get what you want out of it. To do this, refer to this section: Color Bar Based on Alert Condition: Coloring Subgraphs of Other Studies For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

OK, thx for the info. Here's basically what I want, but instead of the red bars going down, I want all the bars going up...

Start by doing Step #1 that we gave you above. If the coloring changes, then you will need to go to Step #2.

I did the spreadsheet study, and that put the bars in the correct orientation. Simply switch Auto-Coloring to "Same as Base Graph" actually did the trick. Thx

Is it possible to print the actual Delta percentage number (from the calc values study) at the top of each bar?
