Hello If you download the CURRENT version from the website directly or from within the sierra chart program, you get the really old version 2161 instead of 2261. If you are a new user it doesn't harm much, but if you are an existing user UPGRADING from an earlier version, you will end with a broken sierra chart system. You can get the actual 2261 version if you download the actual PREREALEASE version or better, you download the SPECIFIC version 2261. Typical error messages are: "Configuration file error: Unable to read due to newer file format." "Configuration file (accounts) error: Unable to read due to newer file format." "Configuration file (KeyboardShortcuts) error: Unable to read due to newer file format." The login mask has a blank Account Name and Password field. Since I do a full backup of the sierra chart directory before any upgrade I was lucky. Currently I don't know how to recover from this situation if you don't have a backup to restore. Hello Possible solution: Do it at your own risk. Make a backup of the Sierra Chart directory before you try this solution. I did a test recovering from 2161 back to 2261. It seems to be very easy. Choose "Download Current Version" and set the highlighted fields according to the attached picture and it should be good. User569373 |

This issue has been resolved. The main release version number was incorrect. It is now correct. There is no harm in this because if you update to the current version, 2261, all of the configuration files for newer versions are still intact and will be used after the update. Currently I don't know how to recover from this situation if you don't have a backup to restore. You just need to update again and now you will get 2261. If you had saved your Chartbooks in the older version, you can still go back to the current versions by following the instructions here:Chartbooks (Workspaces): Accessing a Backup Chartbook File Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
